This is an amazing venue especially for tourists from other places as it outlines many of the highlights of the State's first two hundred years. You can see this park several ways; walking down from your downtown hotel, on the Hop-on, Hop Off bus (recommended), or by public transportation. Although we did not ride the city bus here, they go by all the time. If you chose the city bus, it is very inexpensive and goes to most of the big venues in Nashville from the downtown transit station. There is a trick however to this option; when you download the app, you can only pay for ONE person when you get on the bus. So, this super inexpensive option, is a great way to see everything and avoid the rental car, but be sure everyone traveling has it on their phone and don't load a lot of money (like $10!). We chose the Hop-On, Hop Off bus which was $50 for the day (per person). We stayed at the Fairlane Hotel which is one block away from the downtown transit station. If you are reading this review and thinking that "these people are kinda cheap" it's really not like us. We are mostly Uber people or rent-a-car, but the bus from the airport was $1 all the way downtown (it's $2 normally, but December was half off). Having said all that, we saw this park twice in one day, driving by with the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus, and walking down the hill behind the state capitol. You should really plan to see this park as part of the Capitol experience (we did not go in the Capitol), the Veterans Memorial, and the Capitol Bicentennial Mall. Start at the top and go down the big hill behind the Capitol (there are stairs, but we just ran down the big hill). Going back up from the Mall there are three hotels very close by to this and the Transit Station; the DoubleTree, The Fairlane and Bobbys. Bobbys is super cool with Willie Nelson's Tour Bus on the roof (need reservations for dinner, but not drinks). The Double Tree's bar has regular food as opposed to over-priced everything at the other two hotels mentioned above. Walking back to our hotel from this mall was relatively easy (going down the hill is a LITTLE aggressive, but not bad). The Farmers' Market that is parallel to the Mall on the west side is a great choice for food. You can read the other reviews about what's on the Mall, but we spent about three hours here with a break for dinner and felt we barely got through it due to losing the December sunlight. A remarkable place and a great place to learn about Tennessee, best of all, it's free!

Just to clarify, Music Row is NOT Broadway where honky-tonks and multistory venues are cranking out live music all day and night. It is a district of Nashville just west of downtown that has been the headquarters of the country music industry and where numerous recording studios are located. It is a rather nondescript area, but this street played a huge role in music history and probably can only be appreciated by participating in a guided tour explaining that history. I visited Historic RCA Studio B which is located here as part of a tour at an additional cost when visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Great road. I’m sure it’s beautiful during the day, but with all the deer, it’s questionable after dark. Was a long drive in the dark.

Went down here three nights during our stay in Nashville and it is mental, not only at night but from about lunchtime. Plenty going on, lots of different music and some 'interesting' sights. Liked AJ's, Layla's and Tootsie's especially, but all really good though drinks are expensive in most places.

Our guide was Erin. She said she was new and we could definitely tell. We basically got the canned stories from her and no additional chitchat as we walked. She also had trouble manipulating around other ghost tour guides from other businesses at first (near the capital). We did enjoy seeing the sites that she showed us and ended up going back the next day to go into the hotel. She was a really sweet young lady and I think with more experience she will get better as she learns more about the city. This tour just does the 5 sites--no bars--but that is ok as we did a pub crawl the day before.
We found this tour on a brochure at one of the local visitor centers. I do have one complaint about that though. The brochure said the tour was $17 and we had to pay $20 and the $1 off coupon was not valid when we tried to put it in. The date was valid on the brochure.
