First off GPS will route you wrong. Went midweek and there wasn’t a crowd. I paid $35 pp for wrist bands which gave us unlimited use of mostly everything that was operational. The place is kind of outdated, but go for the go carts, my family really enjoyed them. The giant slide was a disappointment, the sacks to slide down were really worn out and not very functional. The giant trampoline wasn’t operational, the inflatable climber was filthy. They do however have really cool bumper cars “shark theme” and a small arcade great for younger kids. With limited operating attractions, plan to spend about 2hrs before your kids get tired of it.

Kartrite is the new indoor water park of Resort World's in the Catskill, New York.
We visited this place as a day guest ($99/person).

The water park is a decent size. But cannot be classified as large. Still there are enough different rides gto keep you occupied and the lines were not long at all. They have a wave rider pool if that is your fancy. They have a lot of staff to keep things moving and keep you safe.

Buffet breakfast (outside the water park but indoors) available at $20. Wait to be seated. Decent american style food.

Lockers for rent using a credit card.
Changing rooms are separate from the restrooms.

Curious thing is that there is a snack bar inside the water park itself and payment is sort of based on honor system. After you order, you go to a terminal, scan the food, or punch it in on a screen, and swipe your credit card for payment.

Water temperature is good. Not too warm and definitely not cold.

    Lots of chair around.
    They have cabanas for rent.

You get an armband to allow you to enter in and out.

After our swim, we went to the arcade to have fun. The arcade is small. Given a large crowd of kids, I could see it being swamped.

They have an outdoor fireplace/pit where you could rest and relax. Being that it is winter, they do offer blankets free of charge for you to use.

Very good value for a day pass $99. I'm not sure but it is the only resort waterpark in the area and does its job well.

    Lots of parking spots available.

Father/Son weekend and we wanted to take in some races. I was surprised when I arrived and could practically park at the entrance to the track. Outdoor seating with an indoor simulcast room. The races ran on time and were exciting to watch. Maybe thirty people total in attendance. Clean facilities, but the entire establishment is beginning to show years of wear, tear and neglect.

We visited Assembly for the first time and it was a mind-boggling experience. The former 50s bus station, later a Buick dealership, is vast and attractive in its industrial grunge way. The exhibit of sculpture, mostly by Mexican artists, is lovingly distributed through the space in a way that gives each piece its due yet encourages flow from one to the next. Signage is clear if brief, and Ari, the staff person, was generous with her time and knowledge. It is remarkable that this quality museum is free of charge.

My wife and I spent three nights at the Resorts World Casino in Monticello, NY. It was our fourth visit in the last four years. We have always enjoyed the beautiful rooms of this hotel. We also enjoyed the casino. We had a five star experience at the steakhouse inside the hotel. Great food and excellent service.
That being said, we were amazed that in two days there was no maid service even though we put the housekeeping light on to notify the staff as we have done in the past. After 2 days we called the front desk and were told that it’s only available on request which we were never notified upon check in at the hotel. During our phone call we were told that this was a new policy as a result of the COVID-19 virus.

When we called The front desk we were told That there was no one available to clean the room until the next day. The hotel offered to send us clean towels and sheets for us to utilize in servicing our own room which was totally inadequate for cleaning the entire room. Our garbage was overflowing, the sinks needed cleansing, Coffee and bottled water needed replacing. In fact what the hotel was telling us to do for almost $400 a night was to do our own housekeeping which is ludicrous. After speaking to Petra, “the manager” we were finally able to get someone that final 3rd evening after 6 PM which happened to be our last night at the hotel.
The manager during this call was NOT particularly sympathetic or accommodating and offered little compensation for the inconvenience and hassle. We were offered a $25 credit on our three night bill which was nearly $1200. This manager was a classic example of how not to handle good returning customers as she insisted that it was our fault for not knowing this hotel policy when no one told us about it during check-in.
Our message to the executives of this hotel are that your staff could have handled this so much better.
We were literally handed a bag of sheets and towels to make up our own room. Eventually, a housekeeper cleaned the room after 6 PM. In retrospect I’m surprised they didn’t come up with a mop and say go clean your own room!

Other than this incident regarding cleaning, our experience at the hotel had always been great.
