What travelers are saying
- danarchistLancaster, PA126 contributionsPretty cool for our kids to visit. They got to experience tides going out and were occupied with periwinkle and other sea life. We missed the Osprey show but saw one in the distance.Written August 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Grayson H2 contributionsMy husband and I stayed in the cabins at the Desert of Maine in October 2023. We loved it! The tiny cabins were so well designed. They had a small kitchen and a luxurious bathroom. There was a little store for fire wood and snacks. We can’t recommend the Desert of Maine more!Written October 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TravelbugsforlifeWORCESTER1,118 contributionsWe visited here about 8-10 years ago and enjoyed our visit so we decided to go back when we were in the area. We knew there had been an expansion but we were amazed to see it in person. The place is beautiful and so well done. There is a tree fountain in the middle that is just inspiring. We didn't realize that we would need reservations so our tip is to make one. Luckily they let us sit in the beer garden area. In this area you are able to order your food and drinks at the counter and they bring the food to you. We ended up splitting two pizzas and a salad and everything was delicious, especially the farm fresh feta on the salad. Cheers to this place and we will be back again. Merchandise shop was also nice.Written October 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BladeGuy603Fremont, NH219 contributionsLLBean is the big draw here. Factory headquarters and flagship store but also an outlet down the hill. Almost all the stores your looking for to spend the day and all your moneyWritten January 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME8,609 contributionsI was on Burnett Road and stopped by the farm for a few moments. Maggie's Cafe was closed at the time, but the distant views of the water and small islands from Burnett Road were fantastic, the flowers were pretty, and there were a half-dozen or so sheep in a pen that were cute to look at. I'd go back and check it out further on another visit.Written September 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RoyM1336South Windsor, CT476 contributionsHasn't changed a bit through the years and still a fun place to visit. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The quality of the clothing in particular is great and they generally have an things in stock.Written March 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bill fQuincy, MA6 contributionsThis specific outfit is called
“ Sail Portland”. Others have very similar names . Took a ride with family on a 6 passenger sailboat ( other craft may be available ).
Very qualified and Helpfull skipper and 1st mate.
Casco Bay ( just outside of Portland harbor) is a very protected area to go for a Sail in a small boat , so you don’t get a lot of excessive wave action. And has great scenery and islands and old forts to view.
You need to find your own parking. So I would recommend using one of the few Daily-Rate parking lots along the water
( which are not too bad ). Because the Hourly Rate lots will likely cost more and the city restricts virtually all on-street or meter parking to only one or two hours to force you in to a Paid lot.
Lots off food available within walking distance just past the Cruise terminal at the Ferry Terminal area.Written September 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nature trail was a bit muddy after all the rain we’ve had this summer but the views were to die for. Nicely placed benches invited one to stop and soak it all in. Def going back. Very reasonable rates too! Even had a clear night to shoot the Milky Way!Written September 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katty WHouston, TX143 contributionsWe went to their Portland location. Had an absolutely amazing time. My husband had a flight of beer and I had a flight of mimosa's (I would highly recommend only one pump of habanero if you are not in LOVE with heat). The tapster was friendly and helpful and even checked on us outside and even spent some time just tell us about the city.Written July 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME8,609 contributionsThe 1830 Harrington House is the headquarters for the Freeport Historical Society and its archives, collections, and exhibitions. The house itself is beautiful. Admission is free. When I went, one of the members gave me a brief tour and let me wander around on my own afterwards. There were some interesting paintings, old photos, shoes made at the local mill, ship prints and models, and other relics from Freeport's past.Written August 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME8,609 contributionsI happened to be in the area the first day Wicked Goods opened for their regular season. They had a few familiar items that I had seen on my last visit as well as some new ones. Lots of vintage, some antiques, some modern-day home goods, estate jewelry, art, textiles, Maine-themed articles, etc.Written March 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
