I’ve been riding the Milwaukee District North Line for 35 years. When I first began commuting, it was the gold standard. Trains always on-time, never late for work or late getting home, except during occasional inclement weather. Now, there is an average of at least one 15 minute and sometimes a 30 minute delay every week, even during perfect weather. Conductors are pleasant and the value for the $$$ is good, but you cannot count of getting where you need to be on-time. If you are traveling outside of rush hour, just count on your train being delayed to to “signal problems”. Still, it beats driving if you’re going all the way downtown, but not worth the interminable delays midday and if you’re only traveling a few stops away.
