If you find yourself in Key West, carve out an hour or two to stop by the museum and take the tour (probably 30 minutes). We enjoyed our time with Rob our tour guide as he shared with us the history of the property, the house, and some fantastic stories about Ernest Hemingway. I have three teenage girls who went to see cats and enjoyed learning the history just as much.

So cool and beautiful! We went at noon so no sunset for us, but wow the view and atmosphere is amazing! The market was an added bonus we did t expect and found some good stuff there! We had kids but I hear the night life is amazing…next time!

Great park with dozens of shaded picnic tables and a decent beach. Beach has many small stones and dead coral, so tender feet beware.

We found souvenirs, key lime pie(Kermit’s was great!), shaved ice, great views, great shopping, awesome atmosphere all the way; literally up and down from southernmost point to Mallory Square! We loved it, 2 boys 5&7yo. We had fun the whole way, paid for 4 hours and made it back with half hour for the pier.

Definitely would be a different experience w/out kids but we loved it!

Cuban coffee queen is a hidden gem not to be missed for coffee, breaky or lunch!!

Drove from Fort Lauderdale- was only going to do a few Islands but loved the diverse and picturesque scenery we drove all the way to Key West - stopped for the photo at Southernmost Point Marker - we all enjoyed the trip and stopped at plenty of off road places to look at some of the fabulous houses and boats - plenty of places to stop for. Cup of tea or coffee
Will definitely revisit as the shops/bars/restaurants in Key West where fabulous

Cool site to see. Plan to stand in line and wait to take a picture. No place close to park so I suggest a shuttle drop off somewhere in the district and plan to walk.

If you like history and view points then this is the place to visit in Key West! The view from the top of the lighthouse is about the best you'll get in the old town. The stories around the museum are interesting and the guide at the top of the lighthouse was knowledgeable and helpful (a guy from Bristol, UK).

Lovely peaceful garden. Beautifully labeled trees, and plants. Really enjoyed the orchids. Gardens maintained by Key West Garden Club.

We picked out our art a month ago. We wanted a custom frame. We picked it up today. It is amazing!! Alan is so very very talented. I love the store behind our piece. He truly captures the beauty and magnificence of the Lower Keys!

We were fortunate to stumble upon the opening night of a juried art exhibit, showcasing local Key West artists, and we had the chance to chat with the artists themselves at this one-time (annual) event. What a joy!

We also thoroughly enjoyed the exhibit of illustrations of The Old Man and The Sea, which led us up the museum's staircase, floor by floor, as we re-read this classic adventure. I've studied quite a bit of Hemingway in my life, and I daresay the illustrations add more to the novel than the words themselves. ;)

We also were taken by the presence of Diana Nyad's swim gear as an exhibit just inside the museum. We knew very little about her before this visit to Key West, but learned more about her incredible determination during our stay, and returned home to watch the film made about her swim from Havana to Key West, starring Annette Bening and Jodie Foster. Check out Diana's gear, and her story, and the amazing film about her journey!

We ended our visit to the museum with a too-long stop in the gift shop, buying books and other goodies to bring home with us.

This museum is a gem. History buff, art enthusiasts, Hemingway aficionados, or just curious tourists will leave inspired and enriched.

Terrific shop full of interesting art and photography. A great stop as you wander historic Key West. Colorful and full of perfect tropical art and interesting photography for any Vandenberg wreck divers. We ended up with a really nice print after getting a complete history of its creation from the very interesting owner. Not a pretentious gallery, but rather a fun stop on the way to the next site, bar or restaurant.

This is truly a hidden gem here in Key West, and one of my favorite places to go. The gardens are well tended, the fort makes an interesting backdrop, and there are amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of only a few places in Key West that are free! Take your lunch and a book, and go hide away for awhile!

Audubon House and Gardens is a really nice museum in the heart of Key West. The house has been well-restored and the interior is quiet and serene. Lovely, authentic interiors and a good guide. The gardens are lovely as well. Worth a stop if you’re in Key West.

Very friendly staff, very cool artifacts at a budget friendly price. It’s a great way to spend a little time if you have downtime between bigger and longer activities.
