- TorlusPort Talbot, UK420 contributionsWent mid week so no Market. It is an interesting place with space to wander around in the gardens, restaurants (the Windmill is nice) and the shops were very interesting.
There is an amazing book shop with the most incredible books for children op the top floor and a nice shop on the ground floor selling bits and pieces for the home plus gifts like candles and throw pillows. Nice variety and the proces are not exorbitant.
The highlight is the grocery store though. Nice fruit and veg nicely displayed. Meat and cheese areas, imported biscuits and chocolates. Bring a coolbag and do your weekly shop here!Written November 26, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is simply the safest and most convenient destination for shopping in the area.Written August 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mrabothaVanderbijlpark, South Africa185 contributionsThis was a first time visit. The market provides as all the markets does. It seems as if the Upper Deck Restaurant is the main attraction to the place. This is is for typical market browsers. You will not lose sleep if you missed it.Written September 28, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jan-FruschSusteren, The Netherlands443 contributionsThe Chameleon Art Gallery is the type of tourist trap selling you souvenirs which you see in more places. Expect lots of low quality souvenirs, in many different shops, and expect to be hassled a bit by the guys trying to sell them to you for too much money. But if you approach them with a smile and a joke, it can even be fun. You will need to negotiate hard to get a fair price.Written May 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Amber RJohannesburg, South Africa8 contributionsThis gallery was unprofessional and bit odd to be honest. The building itself needs some refurbishing and the art was very decorative.Written June 24, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eva M1 contributionCameras of such a big mall not working. Lost a small red wallet in the bathrooms just in front of center management office but no help offered within 5 min it was goneWritten August 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JPadmanJohannesburg, South Africa35 contributionsIt is winter currently hence not all attractions are open. We had breakfast at the Madagascan Cafe, a massive outdoor sit down cafe style restaurant. The food the service was very poor, the time it took for basic orders for Eggs Benedict was very disappointing at over 40kg s when the restaurant was very quiet. The outlet is very expensive for the other meals as it seems to be a tourist trap. I would be more supportive of the prices if the food and service was excellent. We visited the animal conservancy and it has a selection of snakes and small animals all rescued and the experience was also average and you paid extra for it at R150 per adult. It is about a 30min visit and there are snake shows where they talk about snakes and let you hold a snake. There is a bungee bounce area which is excellent, a Ko Cart area which gets very busy and was also excellent. Overall an average experience on a lazy Sunday.Written July 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- meganodonnell18Johannesburg, South Africa23 contributionsThe Drostdy Village offers quite a few options re rooms for overnight (or longer) accommodation. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms are treasure troves of oregan pine furniture of every description and style. We have stayed here twice before over the years and the decor has not changed at all in that time. The same dried flower arrangements are still on the very same tables. Perhaps a revamp re curtains and bedding could be looked into whilst retaining all the antique furniture? The previous time we were here we were able to get a good meal at one of the restaurants in the "village" - this time, at 5 p.m. everything everywhere was locked up and bolted - and this on a Saturday evening? We would come again because the pricing is good, but if we do, I hooe decor has moved with the times. It's bit like Miss Haversham's house.Written December 17, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DayaFamilyJohannesburg, South Africa278 contributionsA great place to stop for exotic gifts, big and small, with friendly and helpful staff. They have a wide range of furniture as well.Written October 15, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
