    Nice park with a beautiful temple. The street that leads to it is a touristic attraction with lots of typical shops and restaurants.

    A great spot to come and see the planes take off and land. Beautiful to visit during Sakura season and autumn but really good all year round for the planes!

    Easy access from hotels and trains....you can access it from lots of entry points and it's safe to walk and jog on whenever the mood hits ya. Scenic trees with blossoms as well as waterfalls and stream etc....very peaceful and calm here.

    Taken here by friends as there is a feral cat colony here and the have a special one that hasn't been seen so a couple of weeks. It is a beautiful setting and a lovely place for walk as so peaceful and serene. The broadwalk enables you to wander around the laake.

    It was a much bigger lake when I was a child but due to land reclamation, it has been very much smaller.
    It is best to visit tulip flowering season.
    Contrast with Dutch wind mill is very beautiful.
    Also recommend you sunset through a whole year.

    Our children loved this place and it made for an enjoyable day out from Tokyo in a natural setting.
    Apart from having kids on the monkey end of the spectrum, to visit this place successfully you probably require:
    1. confidence about being in an environment where no English is spoken or written;
    2. a decent sat-navi or map app because the place is very poorly signposted;
    3. a certain tolerance for places that are not perfectly maintained;
    4. a relaxed attitude to seeing your kids scramble over netting and logs where sooner or later they are going to pick up a scratch, a bruise, a bang or a graze;
    5. and some spare clothes and shoes for that inevitable accident when they go in the water

    In addition to the adventure course (which is not suitable for the smallest kids), there are also a small number of old-fashioned amusements including crazy bikes, a fishing pond and unicycles. The staff attention is low-key so you need to be responsible for your own kids' safety.

    There's also a picnic field, a barbecue restaurant, the inevitable kakigouri stand and lots of seating areas if you bring your own food. The 7/11 at the junction of highways 79 and 51 or the mini-market on 79 are obvious places to pick up supplies.

    Oh, and most of the obstacles and challenges are also suitable for the older monkey.

    A friend of mine spotted here the Boston Red Sox closer, Uehara, doing his work out during the last off season.
    Originally built back in 80's with the money distributed throughout Japan as a kind of bonus from the govenmental surplus, this huge athletic complex is virtually empty most of the time. There are tennis courts, camping grounds with BBQ facility, jogging courses, a bicycle course (about a mile long loop) can be used for any others like skate boarding, roller skating, and such.
    The 400-meter track field is not well maintained at all, but ideal for our dog runs, that's what we go for.
    There is some interesting observation glass tower from where you can view the mighty Tone River, and beyond it, Mt. Tsukuba, selected as one of the 100 most beautiful mountains in Japan.
    Shimofusa Cultural Museum in the premises displays historical artifacts of the region. Admission free.
    From JR Narita Station, two stops to Namegawa in ten minute ride, walk 15 minutes from the station.

    While in Narita visiting Shinsho-Ji Temple and adjacent Naritasan gardens, a visit to Yuhi Falls is a must.it is not far from the main entrance of the gardens just keep bearing right. The path to the falls is not arduous however the last few steps to the base of the falls are rocky and often slippery. It was hard to negotiate dressed in rental kimono and sandals. Probably easier in sneakers. Hiking shoes not necessary. This is the highest waterfall in. Narita.

    We checked out of our hotel and had a couple of hours to spare before heading to the airport.

    We walked 0.2 mi from bus stop at Narita Station down to this small park with play structure for 2-6 year olds underneath the current rail lines.

    Vending machines, ice cream & small shops on the way back up to the station kept our older children feeling like it was an adventure.

    that this historic site commemorates the deed of a mere fisherman who with his boat helped Sakura Sogo cross over to the other side of the Inbanuma Lake, knowing that he himeself might have been accused of. And he was later executed as an accomplice of Sogo's criminal attempt to directly plead to Shogun, which had been strictly prohibited, and severly punished those days.
    When we gaze at those 400 years-plus pine trees, you naturally ponder the time and the heroic deed of Sogo, and appreciate the human dignity and honor.
