- veroniq77Camberley, UK26 contributionsThis is a must if you are in Torun!
We had a great time. We did the 2pm English/ Polish session and it was great for our mixed family.
The guys who run it are absolutely stunning and we all enjoyed it.
There is one way system so that helps with managing the groups that come and visit.
Highly (!!!) recommended.Written December 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's actually a museum with a significant collection of art, both religious art dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries and secular art, and other exhibits.
Some of the art is quite exceptional -- the kind of objects you expect in a much more famous museum.
Unfortunately, some of the art is not curated with signage and I saw no docents. So you have to know what you're looking at. I didn't see an English language guidebook.
You can also climb the tower for sweeping views of Turon.Written April 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We also had a Street game which was really nice and funny, very nice way to integrate the team!Written October 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Don't read the reviews as some will spoil your visit.
Add the blind painting- which isn't painting but drawing- it was a nice way to finish the tour and gave us all a lovely keepsake of the day.Written March 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is one of the most outstanding artistic and architectural achievements of sacral architecture in Poland. In the 14th century it was the highest hall church in Central Europe with the naves and aisles 26.8 metre high.Written June 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dariusz SSheffield, UK138 contributionsWe went for family screening at it was worth the time and money. The 4 years old like it so much, the 14 years old wasn't impressed though.Written August 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jonesy223517 contributionsThe museum contained lots of information of the livelihood of the people who lived in typical tenement in Torun. Further through the museum there is more information and artefacts about Copernicus. The information boards are all in Polish, English and German.
The 4D film was only in Polish - I don’t know if there are other language options during the summer months.Written December 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is also the church where Copernicus was baptized.
It is so tall and majestic that the full view could only be seen from the other side of the Vistula River. In a nearby place, you can only look up at it. Like the old Chinese says: "仰之彌高 (The more you look up to it, the higher you feel)".
The interior is richly decorated with Rococo and Baroque art. Visitors can pay to climb up the monumental west tower.Written November 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pawel_hbgSopot, Poland9,999 contributionsArthur’s Court in its present form dates back only to the end of the 19th c., being built in the place where, until 1802, a Gothic building with the same name had stood. This former building, constructed at the end of 14th century, though modernized several times, was the seat of merchant guilds and brought together the wealthiest of Toruń’s burghers.Written May 31, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hani M24 contributionsThis place has 6 floors that cover most areas of knowledge and because it's brand new the exhibits are all wonderful. There is something for every age here, from 2-13 years of age. We went with our 2-year old and she obviously couldn't gain knowledge but she had a blast. Personally, there is so much it's better to go multiple times but you can spend the whole day there easily. Family place with tons for kids to do. great educational experience especially if you have some background knowledge before going. Highly recommend.Written May 7, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jana CPrague, Czech Republic4,663 contributionsWe saw two different animal statues in Torun, this one and the dog. You can't miss it as it's quite a large statue in the city centre. - NomadicTraveller7Fuerteventura11,360 contributionsWe stopped in Torun for 2 nights on our way from Gdansk to Krakow to see the old town. We did not realise that there was a wonderful exhibition of 50 pieces of sculpture, some enormous, by Tony Cragg at the Centre of Contemporary Art at Gen. Sikorskiego 13, very close to the old town and not far from the Old Market Square. It was incredible that were 50 of these sculptures in a number of different rooms. Many of them are stunning, particularly the Wave which is made up of lots of tiny figures cast in Bronze. There is also another very interesting exhibition on the floor above. The Tony Cragg exhibition continues until 10th September, 2023.
There is a nice little café on the ground floor to have a rest after the wonderful sights.Written August 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
