This is the oldest Catholic Church in Sydney, having stood in its current location for close to 180 years, being first opened in 1844. During weekdays alone, there are four services a day, with more on Saturdays and Sundays.

A beautiful Cathedral in the centre of Sydney, next to the Town Hall, wonderful architecture with a very friendly welcome to strangers who wish to worship

I was somewhat disconcerted when I arrived to see workmen removing pipework from the church and the main entry barricaded to the public. One of the workmen advised that I could use the side entry. Once inside I discovered that the organ was being dismantled ans a farewell concert of organ music had been held on 30th October. Plenty to interest inside with the stained-glass windows and various memorials and monuments. The church dates to 1819 and was consecrated in 1824. The building is a good example of Georgian architecture with an impressive portico fronting the West Street entry. It unfortunate that the church is surrounded by higher buildings. Worth visiting if in the area for the history and the inscriptions on the many memorials embedded in the walls.

Pretty old building that we passed on way to Sydney Tower. Located opposite Hyde park. Loved the wrought iron gates. Didn’t go inside though

It's one of the places for Muslims worshippers gather regularly to perform their prayers to the Almighty Allah! Open for everyone to visit, learn more about Islam! And obviously one of the most attractive Mosques based on its architectural design, decoration, facilities and for hospitality!

They have services for all walks of life along Islamic education, Wedding, Tour, Volunteer, Donation and discussion!

Just for first time visitor (despite faith and gender), please keep in mind to have socks to be worn to enter into the prayer hall due to hygiene reason! Along have a modest dress since its a prayer house (head cover recommended for non Muslim women but not mandatory)! And you wouldn't be disappointed by their treat and help!

A beautiful church from long ago, neatly tucked away on Macquarie St. Lovely stained glass windows. A peaceful refuge from busy streets.

The church dates to 1840 when the foundation stone was laid, completed in 1843 and the first recorded service in 1844. We arrived between services on the Sunday and the church was closed. The adjacent Holy Trinity School dates to 1844. The church was the first military church built in colonial Australia.
