One of the highlights of the trip to Salzburg, the fort can be approached on foot as well as by funicular rail. The fort is huge and impressive. Well-maintained with good description of its various spots & history. Superb views from the top.

The Salzburg Cathedral has been around for 300 years and was where Mozart was baptized so there is a lot of history within the walls. We took the Dom Quartier tour which included entrance to the Cathedral but from the second floor right by the massive organ. The church is airy and imposing, but filled with light. There is also a small museum that has some beautiful religious artifacts.

This golden roof is the symbol of the old town of Innsbruck. It’s not big but when the sun is shining it’s brilliant and very nice. With our Innsbruck card we could visit the museum and we saw this golden roof on the other side. To see the place and people below us was very impressive.

Definiely one for those intetested in the intricacies of the heirarchies of Europe. Stunning paintings and a look into the world of nobility, although would have been nice not to have as many darn chairs! Very interesting look into everyone from Henry 8th's wife, the Habsburg dynasty, and Archduke Franz Ferdinand whose assasination started WW1.

While I could not go inside fully, the full views of the exteriors and the partial views of the interiors gave me an essence of the place. Lovely!

Beautiful place and architecture, probably the highlight in Klagenfurt.
We couldn't get inside as we were part of an organized tour and you know the way it is, never enough time to get into the depth of the places, so we missed it. The entrance fee is fair and you shouldn't miss it.

We had a short stop at Innsruck and as business class travellers had access to the OBB Lounge.

The station is pleasnt with 7 platforms so easy to navigate.

There are plenty of food options and a supermarket which is handy for travellers.

A nice pedestrian zone in the town centre with Holy Trinity statue in the middle and a lot of cafes and shops all around. So it’s easy to find a place where you can enjoy a cup of coffee.

This place had been on my bucket list for years. For one reason mainly. The connection to the Sound of Music. But don't let that deter you even if you never saw the movie! The setting just happens to be on the lake where a key scene in the movie was filmed. The Villa facing that lake is quite special. The hotel rooms in the adjacent building are simple and basic, but very clean and comfortable. If you're looking for a Four Seasons type experience, this is not it. But if you want to experience a feeling of the past and enjoy the seclusion and quiet setting on many acres, you will love it. Other reviews talk about the amazing breakfast which is served in an amazing room. That is in fact, worth the stay. The room is amazing. All of the rooms in the Villa are open to guests to walk through and the grounds are also only for guests to roam. I would go back again as not only was this a very enjoyable stay but Salzburg in general was fantastic. An absolutely charming town to visit during the Holiday season. Their Holiday Xmas Market was the most authentic feeling of all the markets I visited in December.
