Enjoyed the view, the wine, the staff. They offered good information about their wines, which were presented very well.

    An amazing building feat.
We started at the top and enjoyed the views as we slowly walked down into the centre of town.
    Really worthwhile.
For those who do not wish to walk up you can take a taxi up which costs 5€ or less and they do take small dogs too.

What an amazing experience! Fabio led the best wine tour we’ve ever had. Such passion and knowledge! Stay in the wine barrels, if possible. It’s peaceful, comfortable and such a unique experience!

Our favorite place in the Douro! 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone interested in wine tasting and an incredibly unique experience. Amazing wine and gorgeous views. Gil is a master of his craft, generous, and funny! If you’re hesitant, do it and you will not regret it!

I always give at least €5 for donations when the entrance to churches are free because I want to keep it that way for everyone and also as a sign of appreciation for the care takers! It is such a beautiful church! You must all visit when in Lamego 🙏🏼 My hostel was the best and steps from it "Host'olaria"

What we can say about the “Museum de Lamego” is that it is currently closed due to the fact of the ongoing rehabilitation works. The museum is Located in the historic center of the city, at a few steps away from the Theater and the Chapel Espirito Santo, it was founded in the year 1917, in an 18th century building, which was an episcopal palace. It belongs to the restricted number of century-old museums, whose creation reflects the effects of the application of the Law of Separation of the State from Churches (1911), which followed the establishment of the Portuguese Republic.

I love that this town offers 98% of their touristic attractions for free to the public! This is one of them and lovely too! Less than a 10 minute (a bit up hill) from the Cathedral and you get amazing views! The touristic office downtown by the bus station told us about this Castle and at the castle the lady told us about "Antonio" a corps and other ruins from 9-11th Century! And the lady at the Nucleo Arcológico told us about the Cistern that was also very old and all within 10 minute walking radius.

This is one of the earliest Christian churches in Portugal dating from the seventh century when the Visigoths ruled the area. It is the oldest surviving Christian place of worship in Portugal.

Before leaving Lamego we stopped here. This is my first experience with a sparkling wine producer -- not much difference than a conventional wine producer.
I enjoy sparkling wine, a "poor man's" Champagne. We were greeted by Andrea, who introduced us to the brand, the oldest and largest sparkling wine producer in Portugal. She poured 3 of their wines. I could not tell much difference. There was nothing like samples of bread to separate the different tastes of the varieties.
There was an interesting display next to the serving bar. Wine in different sized bottles showed other than 750ml bottles.

FREE of charge to all. Five 5 minutes walking from the Castle amd 5 minutes walking from the Cistern. When you visit here ask about "Antonio the best co-worker in town!" Eveyone in this town is so nice! When you visit this place The lady that helped us here was very thorough with the explanation The touristic office downtown by the bus station told us about this Castle and at the castle the lady told us about "Antonio" a corps and other ruins from 9-11th Century! And the lady at the Nucleo Arcológico told us about the Cistern that was also very old and all within 10 minute walking radius.

We enjoyed our wine tasting here so much that we bought some wine to take back to our apartment. And the countryside here in the river valley is extraordinary.
