A special place in the heart of Dublin!Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's said to be the largest park in a metropolitan area in all Europe.
It hosts long roadsfor you to run, walk, ride a bike or drive (it's big enough even for a few minutes drive). You could sit down in the varied landscapes, you have sports pitches, huge lawns and trees.
An absolute heart warming surprise is the deers living in the middle of the park. Avoid feeding and invading their life too much. They are lovely and are an example coexistence in the country's biggest city.
Definitely recommended.Written March 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I think that the county council are doing some work. I walked for 55 minutes. I was disgusted by the app map my walk it showed a shorter distance on my phone. 5 out of 5 but please get the path way cleared the fence is an eye sore. Great walks, lots of bird life, friendly walkers, fantastic facilities ( Incl tennis club, playing fields, skate park etc).
Pickup a coffee or sandwich for an outdoor picnic ( recommend foam or saltwater grocery both in Terenure) or get an ice cream from the weekend in park van or check out the Weekend (Saturday) food market.

Numerous pathways through the grandly standing trees are gorgeous avenues for bracing ambles.

It was interesting to learn that it began life as the gardens and grounds of Hampstead House, built probably in the early 1700s. It received its name from the similarly placed London Hampstead Heath.

There are a lot of trees, but the playground is the best equipped for the area. Definitely worth a visit with the children.Written September 4, 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
