Amazing views from cliffs. Nice for walking, only on the walking path by the sea from parking to the Salt Lake there is quite a lot of plastic.
The entrance fee is reasonable (about 4 € per person), the ticket office at the entrance open at 9 a.m..

There is paid parking upon arrival.
You walk about 300m to reach the beach.
There are two porta potties (wc) and also a cafe with some snacks to eat.
Beach is pebble, water is super clean.

Wish I read the reviews before going there. It’s nothing special and definitely not comparable to the Caribbean. The beach is extremely rocky and it is impossible to walk in the water without high quality non-slip water shoes (cheap shoes don’t work). If you have little kids, please do not bring them there - it is UNSAFE. The only small area with actual sand is all the way on the left side of the beach, where there is absolutely no shade, so if you don’t bring your own umbrella, you will fry on the hot pebbles. The trees (shade) are all the way at the right end of the beach, which is a very long and difficult walk in the pebbles if you are carrying anything heavy (kids included). The walk from the bus station to the beach isn’t exactly short either and the busses are extremely crowded (I’m talking about the busses that take you from the boat in town to the beach). Also, the only shops at the beach with overpriced food are all the way on the right end - so if you are on the left end - again - you need to walk across all the pebbles just to buy drink or food. Yes, the water is beautiful and clear but other beaches have water just as beautiful and clear too, and with far easier access. Save yourself the money and the time. There are tens of way more beautiful beaches in Zadar area, not to mention in all of Croatia. Don’t get fooled with exaggerated boat tour advertisements. SKIP THIS ONE.

If you want to ave a holiday far from the crowd, private beaches and you are not afraid of being at a small island, sometimes without warm water, this is the best place for you in Croatia. The island is really beautiful, the water is Cristal clear and with some walk walk you can find a private beach for yourself and some adventure. But this place is not for families with small children - if the family likes the comfortable things. We stayed at the Filipi family and our guest giver, Branco is a really cool, authentic Croatian see pirate :D So if you want to live the Croatian lifestyle, visit this place - and a week here is not enough.

Cave Strašna peć is a nice cave of medium size with some nice stalactites, stalagmites and stalagnites to see. You can hike to it but don't do it in the middle of the day in the summer (very hot) and wear sturdy shows. Also, if you visit during the summer, take a long-sleeved shirt because its quite cold inside.

Entrance fee is too expensive, especially compared with natue park Telašćica (40 kn for Telašćica, 50 kn/person for the cave). You get a guided tour but the guide knows very little about geology, paleontology and history and instead spends time telling the visitors how he thinks some of the rock formations look like (like a gorilla head, like a ram, etc) and then harrasses everyone in the group whether they see the indicated shapes. If you don't see them, he recommends smoking ganja and drinking booze. We had several small children in the group and this didn't deter him from recommending ganja smoking several times and even asked the kids whether they knew what ganja was. He also told an outright lie how some partisans were hiding in this cave all the way till 1950ies withut realising the WWII has ended (which in fact happened in Japan, not on Dugi Otok!). Then he turned to Croats in the group and said how he always tells these lies to foreigners (we were a mixed group) and how they always believe it.He said it quite mockingly implying how they're stupid for believing him. We had Polish people in our group and I'm pretty sure they understood what he said. This is definitely not the way I like my country represented to visitors and tourists.

Mate really helped us to make the best of our week on this beautiful island. On picking us up from the ferry, it was clear that he was a warm, friendly and helpful person. During our week we hired bikes and kayaks from him, which were very well maintained. Everything we needed was provided e.g. bike locks, helmets, repair kits, life jackets. Prices were very reasonable.

He was very quick to respond to messages and offered very helpful advice. We highly recommend this service and would love to return to Dugi Otok.

The service is really good, decorated modestly but with a lot of interesting details (starting with the name!). Great place for morning coffee, afternoon or evening drink.

Booked a shared transfer one day prior for my wife & I from Sali to Sakarun Beach through Adamo (whom use an independent operator). Adamo seem to be a booking agent- i presume all assets are independently owned / operated.
Experience was easy, no fuss and straight forward. Customer service was helpful and obliging and transfer was prompt, punctual - perfect really.
