A resonating passion
From the moment the gates opened, you could really feel the passion Paulo and Donato carry for the cantina and wine. It was stunning to see all the ancient tools and hear the great stories. The wines were so tasty and nice, real authentic. To summarize: the whole experience was simply amazing! Thanks guys:)

We got to La Cantina Frrud because we googled what to do on a rainy day. What a perfect choice it was! Having a wine tasting with a historical touch and a super friendly and passionate host. We enjoyed ourselves so much, the tour was interesting and the wine and supplements delicious. Highly recommended and also on a not so rainy day!

Fantastic and memorable
La Cantina Fruud is an amazing story and a fantastic experience. Paolo and his partner have great passion for the history and the business and this shows through their hard work. The tour is very interesting and they have some great historical pieces. What is great is that everything they are offering is from the local region. The wine tasting and accompanying food gives a great taste for what the region has to offer. Book this as soon as possible, you won't be disappointed.

The best thing to do in Altamura

A really fascinating and insightful tour of the ancient winery. Paulo's passion and knowledge is wonderful. The tour is very well organised and the building has been restored immaculately. The three local organic wines we tasted were beautiful and Paulo told us the story behind each one. Alongside all of this was a delicious spread of local breads and cheeses. Excellent value for money and I would certainly go back again!

Amazing experience

We were a group of friends in Puglia knowing nothing about wine and thought that if we are in Italy we should see know how the wine is made and go tasting. So we searched and found this and thought that yeah it will okay. So we got an appointment. It's was a little bit hassle but it was worth it. For the price we paid we got so much. There was amazing local food and so much wine and a lecture off the wine making. I think we were there for 3 hours talking and eating and drinking. Its was amazing experience. The guys really do it with their heart and soul and the visitation was really personalized. We left there with a really good feeling. Stomach was full and head was buzzed from the wine. I think i have never drink so much wine in such a short period of time. I even didn't have a hangover xd. So it shows its a good wine. I will definitely recommend this to everyone that are in the region. Huges and kisses to the hard working guys. Keep the business on!!!

Memorable wine tasting

Excellent experience. Paolo and Daniele have guided us through this charming cantina, showing us all the antique winemaking equipment (dating back to the 15th century) and how it worked. We were also treated with a tasty selection of local foods, and the wine they produce. Everything was remarkable. Last but not least: don’t miss your chance to buy a bottle of their wine called “1572” before leaving, that wine is nothing less than superb 

Lovely place, tasty wine and food

I have the memory of a great night at the Cantina Frrud. I've been again there with a group of international friends. The guided tour was fantastic; I've learned a lot about the old-fashioned way to produce wine and traditional tools history. Everything explained in a more than intelligible English. The best part was the tasting experience, locally produced wine, and wonderful food (focaccia, burrata, and local cheese). Paolo and Donato have been very polite and so friendly that we really struggle to leave the place at the end!

Not to be missed

La Cantina Frrud is a lovely little old winey. It had fallen into disrepair but has since taken on a new life as a museum, housing a number of interesting artefacts, including wine making tools and other curiosities that were found at the site.

Paulo, our guide, introduced the building and the artefacts in a way that gave us a good understanding of the historical wine making processes in the region as well as the way wine fitted into local life. Getting to try some local wine afterwards was also a treat!
