Early 20th century Denny fire trucks on display
lut 2019 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
I like stopping by the Fire Service Museum (Museu dos Bombeiros) on Estrada de Coelo do Amaral from time to time, mostly to see the early 20th century Denny fire engines on display. Opening hours are 10am to 6pm daily.

The museum (free entry) is found within a historic colonial era building and includes two rooms. The first includes the British made Denny's which were put to use in Macau during the first half of the 20th century. They are in good condition and really neat to see up close. There are also historical Chinese water pump apparatuses which predate the Dennys. These are equally enjoyable to see and learn about.

The second room is a showcase of firefighting equipment, gear, clothing and other items that will be of interest to firefighting enthusiasts. Give this room a few minutes to browse as well if you end up at the Fire Services Museum.

Note: For those interested in making a visit the Fire Services Museum, it is around 5-6 minute walk northeast of the Ruins of St. Paul. Make sure to have you map of Macau handy so you know exactly where to go. There are some green signs pointing the way but a map will help you get there as quickly as possible. Allow 10-30 minutes for this museum, depending on your level of interest.

Interesting speciality museum in Macau
kwi 2018 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
The Fire Services Museum is a small specialist attraction on Estrada de Coelho do Amaral, 5 minutes walk east of Camoes Square and 5 minutes northeast of the Ruins of St. Paul. It is free to visit and is open from 10am to 6pm daily.

Here you will two gallery rooms in a historic 1920's European style building. The first gallery showcases British made 'Dennis' firetrucks used in Macau during the early part of the 20th century. There are also Chinese made water pump apparatuses used during earlier periods. The second gallery includes displays of clothing, equipment and tools used by firefighters in the past.

The Fire Services Museum is a neat and quick place to visit if you have time and interest. You can comfortable explore the collection here in 15-20 minutes.

This is a really nice museum, which will only take an hour to go through. The museum is housed in a 1920 building, which looks like the original neighbourhood fire services station.

Again, fee to enter museum. A beautifully looked after place. Nice history of how firefighting, was done in the yesteryears. A few old fire engines. Interesting concept on how water pressure was built before automation. Kids would love to see it, specially little boys.

Pleasant break and helpful staff
lip 2015 • Dla rodziny
We happened upon this little museum because we were lost looking for the Red Market. What a pleasant little break away from the hustle and bustle of the casinos! The old fire trucks and authentic fire suits were really interesting. And the fire map gave you a sense of how big Macau really is. To top it off, I asked the guard how we should get to the Red Market and he gave me directions. While we were walking the museum he came back over with a much better map and he had marked off the locations for me. Talk about service! Honestly, take some time to visit this attraction.

For a small city they have a Fire Musuem with two immaculate looking Dennis Trucks from the 30's & 60's.

The information they have will certainly keep everyone interested on the Fire Service and what equipment they use.

Well worth the visit.

Good to know

This is a good place to those who have not seen the old fire truck and equipments. My daughter enjoyed it a lot. What else it's free of charge and good experience for all of us. It's located slightly out skirt if the city; next to Kiang Wu hospital and ice skating ring.

Fire Service Museum - Nice Dennis fire engines on display
wrz 2013 • Pary
The First Service Museum (free to visit) is located on Estrada de Coelho do Amaral, a five minute walk from the cluster of World Heritage attractions at Camoes Square. The museum is housed in the easily recognisable 1920's European style building and includes two halls of items on display, that are worth 15-30 minutes if you have an interest in such matters.

The first hall features two British made fire engines, which were used in Macau during the early days of the territories public fire services. There are also 4 separate Chinese made water pumps on display, which were historically used by locals to deal with fires prior to public firefighting services being available in Macau. These were neat to see and read about. Information for all displays within the museum are light and easy to read.

The Second Hall features various fire service items of a historic nature including old boots, hats, wooden water pump implements, electronic board, firefighting tools and even a neat little collection of fire engine collectable cars.

Overall, this was a neat speciality museum that makes a quick visit if you are in the area. Not sure would recommend to those with limited time in Macau but it would be worth finding if you are here for a few days or are a fire engine enthusiast.
