Well preserved Medieval walls
paź 2019
Very nice to walk around. Each of the 4 sides has a different view that gives it unique charm. While there is a surrounding green space along the walls, the walking path is along the sidewalk across the street, which makes pictures less attractive. You can walk along the grass for pictures, but there is no path.

Amazing

Amazing place, lovely walk inside the walls. The village of Montagnana is a very interesting place to visit for the historic importance. Driving we found this huge wall and the towers surrounding the village. We walked all around the walls, the towers and in the heart of the village where is the Duomo. Interesting history, starting the journey from the 15th century and all the battles and the monuments. Beautiful Duomo and the Venetian architecture palace in the central square. We loved everything about Montagnana and it's walls.

Well-preserved medieval walls
wrz 2018 • Pary
Beautiful walls from the 1300s which surround completely the little village. Worth visiting, in half hour you can see the entire thing (internal perimeter about 2 Km) walking along the inside village street (no external path; cannot climb on the actual walls but walk alongside). At one point along the wall there is a small castle (Castello di San Zeno) with a tower (Mastio di Ezzelino, nice view from the top, 40m high with a lift reaching one third of the way, then quite a few old steps to climb ...), it can be visited but you have to watch for the opening hours (closed at lunch). Next to the castle is the local tourist office (closed at lunch, too), it pays to stop by and get a (free) map of the village (available also at some local restaurants) which we found quite useful in our visit.

Well-preserved medieval town
sie 2017 • Pary
We were staying in nearby Guarda Veneta and looked for a town to visit. We didn't wanna see a big town, but something smaller and less-known. We haven't heard of Montagnana before, but just seen some pics online.

So headed here and parked just outside of the walls on the Viale Spalato. Free and safe!

The walls and the town itself are incredibly well-preserved and an impressive piece of architecture. The walls around town are really complete...and they really DO surround the whole town. It's nice just to walk around it, makes some nice pics. But be sure to get into town as well. Lots of nice sights and good restaurants and desserts.

We came on a sunday and the town was pretty much deserted....except for some locals. And our car the only one on the parcheggio. We enjoyed having the town for ourselfes. If you don't mind that many stores are closed, then sunday it should be.

It is quite stunning, that this fantastic place isn't more well-known. Still a bit of a secret. But among Italians it seems famous enough, there are festivities in and around the walls quite regularly.

being a bit "out of time" for a while is a sweet sensation !
cze 2017 • Pary
Thanks to the admirable and patient work of the city (which used nearly 20 years to rebuild this fantastic medievalist wall !), we can admire the panorama... just splendid !
A sweet sensation of dominating the world. You can see outside the big doors of entrance as well as the inside of the city... A good return back to the past !
It's not exprensive at all to visit this attraction and you also can do it during summer time by night ! It's a bit difficult for whom has got some problems with his knees or legs, because you have to climb a little bit at the beginning. But after, when you're there, it's all flat.... very cute !

Fortified City!
kwi 2017 • Pary
Beautiful living city inside the medieval wall/fortified city, for sure have one castle here. Historical wall, But it's little bit neglected the building inside the wall for my opinion. Walking around the whole wall it's awesome!!!
When we visit Have a spring fair outside the cinta muraria so it's hard to find parking, but we had try some street food and see a lot of things. Overall I love it!!

Timeless
paź 2016 • Pary
Except for automobiles, one can easily imagine the town of 600 years ago. The walls are impressive, all the more so because so many have been destroyed elsewhere in the zeal of civic modernization, with the result that something is gained but with a loss. The town of Montagnana is worth a visit for its own sake. Nestled within the walls is a charming, tidy, and peaceful seeming community. No hustle. No bustle. Just people going about their business and lives--an affirmative experience to see.
