Fabulous music venue

For our first visit to the Picturedrome we came to see a gig with Altered Images. We were impressed by the accoustics and the compact auditorium ensuring no one was far from the stage. With standing downstairs and a few seats on the balconies the venue is ideal for rock music gigs. Drinks were cheap and the recycled plastic glasses a good idea to help preserve the environment.

Great place to see a band.
Good sound, plenty of room, great bar
We went to see Dr Feelgood & the queue was a bit much. Would recommend going earlier as the bar is excellent

Great night out

I have lived in Holmfirth for 13 years and only been to this venue once to see a concert. My sister bought tickets for Maet Loaf, what a great night! Great venue and great gig. I have since bought more tickets for another gig in April. Great to have this venue on my doorstep.

compact former cinema, mainly standing only but there are some seats upstairs (get there early if you want on). Well staffed bar with reasonable priced drinks, you pay £1 for a plastic glass deposit

its a old building but its good watched a few bands here and never had a bad thing to say bar staff are good and good beers are to be add only slight problem depending on how popular the bands are is parking really hard to get parking right out side but plenty up the side roads

Asset to Holmfirth

I mean, it's an old cinema turned into music venue which has been home to The Darkness! Can't believe they played here! Peter is a nice bloke too. Seen several acts here and it's always been a great night out. They even provide free pork pies!

Cold, no atmosphere and a bit 'grotty'.

We perhaps didn't visit at the best time of year (December) but we saw a show and everyone was wearing thick coats as it was FREEZING inside!!! Also, there was a lot of noise coming from the back (standing) area ...... so loud that it was difficult to hear the performance sometimes. They should have been told by staff to keep the noise down.

Is there age restrictions? I have tried for the last 2 weeks to email ring and faceboom message to find out but nothing! I wanted to get a xmas present but it depends if my 11 year old can go to a certain gig ! PLEASE HELP

Travelodge is about 7 miles away in Huddersfield. There are also a couple of Premier Inns in the Huddersfield area. Plenty of B &Bs and pubs with rooms in the area. Try the Rose and Crown at Thurstonland about 2 to 3 miles from Holmfirth. Richard the owner will look after you.

Plenty of places to stay in Holmfirth that aren't too expensive and within walking distance.

can you please explain how the seating is allocated ?? when you go on the website to book it just says g/a ??? don't you get a seat number then ? or is it just a mad scramble to try and get the best seats ??

Remember the 80's-early 90's when cinemas were "proper"?
Take the seats from the floor all the way down front and imagine the sloping towards the stage area? Basically a cinema with seats ragged out lol. But authentic / old school, not Health and Safety ocd where the executives rip out its heart???

I would like to find out where our tickets are for average white band,I purchased them on 2nd March and the money went out of my account on 3rd March we paid booking fee plus postage. I have emailed several times ,with no reply.when I try phoning there is a message that says it is full so try later??? We have booked a hotel cos we are travelling from manchester,please can someone help!!!!! Carol and Ken Wheeler.

As the other guys said ,you can request tickets to be posted ( we usually do and recieve them promptly , however you can also request then for a print off from the website (i believe) we have been several times ( and enjoyed the event immensly)
and had no problems , like one person sain , worst case bring an email with you and enjoy , Hope all goes well.,
