Cruising into history

This was a great place to visit. So interesting. It has been awhile since we visited and need to return again, maybe after Covid loosens its grip on us. Many beautiful cars and items that you would find in a dealership and its garage.

I really enjoyed this site as they had a model which my dad drove when I was a kid. Those were the days before the use of seat belts and one of the back seat hazards was the top of the front seat had a steel bar.

Excellent range of Packards - well done!
lut 2020
The building is an old Packard dealership. The gentleman who greeted us explained the museum and walked around a little with us, explaining some of the Packard design nuances and interesting history regarding a few of the vehicles. They do a good with information about each vehicle and about the timeframe the vehicle came from. Lots of fine examples of one of my favorite car brands. Well done!

Package Museum Dayton, Ohio
kwi 2019
My husband and I went last April. It was very interesting in an old Packard building. It has quite a few old packards which were beautiful. Also had some interesting exhibits showing various car items motor oil, polish, spark plugs. My husband would have stayed longer, but 1 1/2 hours was enough for me. My only negative was it smelled of car fumes and oil.

A Side Trip

Had a few spare hours in Dayton and stopped in the Packard museum -- what a pleasant surprise. Enjoyed a review of Packard luxury cars from the past all in new condition. Also parking near the museum was available.

A must see for automobile nuts!
cze 2019
The museum is located in downtown Dayton, but parking was plentiful. You will see some of the most beautiful automobiles ever build from the early 1900's to the late 1950's. They also have engines on display from the early days to the mid 1950's. It includes engines for boats, planes (even jets)and time.motor vehicles. It is definitely worth the

It’s rather small but has 30-40 cars. It’s located in an old Packard distributor building and I love the older architecture. The cars are not usually restored, so you can get right next to them. Staffed by volunteers who have good stories and information on many things. As a car guy who is fascinated by Brass Era through 1940 cars, I had a great time. Spent 2 hours talking and looking, could have spent more.

Great venue for business meetings and receptions

I had an opportunity to visit the Packard Museum during a recent Miami Valley Military Affairs dinner and was amazed by the venue. The museum itself has a great collection of Packard cars that reveal much about the history of the automotive industry. Since Dayton was so closely tied to Detroit during the automobile boom during the early to mid 20th century, automobile enthusiasts would love the small but engaging Packard Museum.

A very historical place which is definitely worth the trip! The building was an original Packard dealership built in 1917. Has most of the original fixtures including the sales and service manager’s offices. The service department even has the original lubrication reel hoses hanging from the ceiling, and of course some very rare Packard... we loved it!

Traveling for a couple of days with my cousin and we are going to visit a few great transportation museums.
Packard was a large part of the auto seen in the early part of the 1900's. They closed the doors around 1957 and that was a sad day. They built some very beautiful auto's along with marine engines for our military's PT boats. They also made jet engines and other special trucks and autos. The museum has 3 rooms showing some of all types of Packard products. It is self guided tour and you can learn a lot about a true American Company. A bonus is that you can rent the entire building for a party, wedding or any other event. What a blast it would be to hold a party in a building of beautiful American autos. You need to see this place. The best six dollars you will send all year.
