We were booked to go on cruise out of Tilbury as we only live 8 miles away decided to use the Gravend to Tilbury ferry.
We only waited a few minutes and the crossing was only a few minutes even took our bus pass as a consesssion
Lovely crew helped us with our cases and so polite would definitely recommend.

What a lovely treat!
gru 2019
This little ferry crosses from Tillbury Docks to Gravesend and back every half hour doing the day, giving wonderful views of the docks and the town, and lots of open sky. Free for pensioners, otherwise £4. A real treat!

lovely trip to graves end
wrz 2019
Travelling to Gravesend into Kent from Essex, without having to drive over the Dartford bridge.
The ferry has a clear times scale on there web site and when you arrive on the doc.the parking is limited but you can a bus to the doc. The Ferry takes you from Tilbury to the town pier in Gravesend the seating is good and the ferry is clean.

Convenient and efficient

The ferry runs every 30 minutes and is a cheap and convenient way to cross the river, moreover bus pass holders can travel free.

Great way to cross the Thames
wrz 2019
A regular we.l run service, and the boat also takes bikes. If you have a “ bus pass” the service is free.

Hot summers day

With time to spare I took the Gravesend to Tilbury ferry, what a wonderful experience.
They waited a few moments whilst I made my way down to the boat. A very friendly welcome and after only what seems less than five minuets we were there. I had a return ticket so I simply stayed on board. Simple pleasures provided by nice people what more can we ask.

Time to spare
sie 2019
I was told about this ferry while working in Gravesend and as it was weekend thought I was a good way to pass away some spare time.
It's was only £4 for a return and a very short trip across the Thames. Once over you can get a bus into Tilbury or beyond
There's free parking on the Tilbury side of the Thames but you'll need to find somewhere to park in Gravesend.

Great way to see the Thames and photograph Gravesend from the river
lip 2019
There is a half hourly service, and for UK residents with a Senior Citizen's bus pass the ferry is free outside peak hours (i.e. free from 9.30 to 4.15). This is a great way to see shipping moving up and down the Thames, and the large Tilbury riverside terminal and landing stage (said the be the largest floating wooden structure in the UK) where the Empire Windrush docked bringing migrants from the West Indies. Handy for long-distance bike tourists and walkers moving between Essex and Kent. Not sure what Tilbury had to offer the tourist or casual visitor, but the river offers a good vantage point from which to photogaph the historic Gravesend riverside.

Travelled over on this ferry ever so often to visit my sister who lives in Kent,I live in Essex so as a pensioner, a godsend to see her rather than attempt a Thurrock bridge traffic jam crossing.
and pay two ways.
Free for pensioners after rush hour, he,he,he.
Say no more, thanks to Kent and Essex councils to fund this service.
Long may it reign.xxxxx, and who sail in her.
