Art made from sea junk
lis 2019
A great place to support.
Many kinds of plastics that are collected from the ocean.... eventually recycled into art.
It helps people to be aware about the plastics they toss away. Does a ton of damage to the sea life.

Closed for Covid . . . art is all around Bandon
wrz 2020
the main building is closed due to Covid but their art is located all around Bandon. 4 completed pieces in a lot behind the building. Another piece down the road and the Puffin on the bluffs above Face Rock.Great cause. Please support them

closed for renovations
maj 2020
Gallery was closed for renovations when we stopped by in May. However, two of the "sculptures" are visible nearby outside and another of a puffin is at Face Rock Scenic Viewpoint. Enjoyed seeing the creativity and recycling of ocean trash into something beautiful and educational.

Art to save the sea!
maj 2019
These incredible works of art grab your eye and your attention. As you get closer and begin to see what they are made of, they teach a lesson better than anything else could -- all of those plastic items ended up in the ocean. Washed Ashore sculptures are in the Smithsonian, were at the U.N. Oceans Conference, the Clinton Museum, aquariums like the Shedd in Chicago, and Disney World. How wonderful that at the small ocean side town of Bandon you can not only see some of these creations in person, but you can even participate in the creative process!

An Amazing Place
wrz 2019 • Znajomi
Someone described this exhibit as a “quirky” place because it defies an easy explanation. It is an environmentally sensitive nonprofit gallery of art created out of plastic trash that has been collected from beaches. Volunteers clean the beaches by collecting plastic debris. The plastic bottles and broken parts of plastic are then sanitized for use by more volunteers who prepare parts for huge sea creature sculptures designed primarily by one artistic director. The artwork is amazingly creative, well designed and colorful. This has to be seen to be appreciated. It is art with an educational purpose and outreach.

Very interesting art with "washed ashore" items
sie 2019
The artwork is excellent, but the message - that ocean pollution is a very serious issue - is even more excellent. Well worth a visit!

Eyeopening
lip 2019
This art gallery amazing and sad at the same time! The works of art are beautifully done but made of trash thrown in the ocean and washed ashore. It does make one aware of how much people throw in the ocean and how it affects the marine life.

Gallery/ environmental education
lip 2019 • Pary
This is one of the most important places to visit in old townBandon. It is a Gallery and environmental education Center showing and explaining what happens with all the debris that is washed up on our various shorelines throughout the world.

Our Shorelines are awash with debris from all types of plastic,Styrofoam, bottle caps, you name it. The gallery sorts all of these washed ashort items by color and then artist put together some pretty creative artistic displays.

You will see the Styrofoam that has been used in a number of artistic ways. Also you will see all the plastic and bottle caps that Have washed ashore and used in the creation of various sea creatures. The displays are large in amazing to view.

The staff is very helpfulAnd will explain where the debris is from, how it was used, there are even tables available on the second floor so visitors can help sort the debris and trash by color later to be used in artistic process.. This is one of the most creative galleries I have seen in recent years and not to be missed in a stay at Bandon.
