Enjoyable park with variety
lip 2020
A relative in Zanesville took us to Dillon on a short day trip. Spent a few hours there walking up and down the dam, enjoying the beach and hiking the Storybook nature trail. Children will get double pleasure from the Storybook trail. Appears the park has a lot to offer including boating, camping, hiking and fishing. The beach has fully equipped facilities. No entrance fees and ample free parking.

Horrible

If you want to be thrown into everyone else's camping party this is the place for you! If you like being woken up at 6am to people yelling and kids screaming, this is for you. The beach should be closed because of the green slime and slime bubbles, can't even swim. The archery field is overgrown and not maintained. Rangers driving around all night with their bright lights. People playing loud music all night... No thanks, I probably can't get my money back for the second night I paid for, but I am not going to come back.

Very Pet Friendly
cze 2020
We had a wonderful weekend camping at Dillon. The restrooms were very clean. The park has taken the proper measurement to protect folks during this time of COVID-19.

The park is very pet friendly. Our dog was able to go everywhere with us! We went for a hike and played on the beach.

Unfortunately, the beach area did have alot of trash. And the trails are very rugged.

Overall, we were very happy!

Great Winter Visit to Dillon State Park - We Will Be Back!
lut 2020
We were coming to the area for a concert and wanted to camp at a State Park even though it was February. We were the only ones camping that weekend. :) It is a beautiful park, camping sites are nice with flat pads, camp store had a great clearance sale trying to get cleared out for new spring merchandise and they were well stocked with other items also. It looks like they had redone the shower house because it was updated and very clean. We can't wait to go back when it is warmer and enjoy this State Park again!

Really nice state park.
paź 2019
We enjoy state parks. We have stayed at plenty. This is one of the nicest state parks we have ever visited. We reserved a cabin. Super nice. Private. Screened in back porch, cable TV, linens, utensils, coffee pot, microwave, gas fireplace (for ambiance). Picnic table on front porch, fire pit. Beautifully done inside. Nice, easy trails, well marked and legends at trailheads..Beautiful area. Horses allowed on certain trails. Horse camp. Nice campground for RV's. I would bring mine ! Dump station. Camp store. Laundry. Our only negative would be that there are no long , difficult trails for experienced, seasoned hikers but not a big issue. We enjoyed the easy and moderate while taking in the fall colors. We have no info about the lake. We will stay here again.

Frustrating trails
paź 2019
We visited Dillon State Park to enjoy the fall colors. The trees were beautiful! The staff in the park office where we picked up a trail map need a lesson in customer service. We hiked a couple trails and were very frustrated at the poor trail markings. We started on a "hiker's" trail but at every divide in the trail, the postings stated "no hikers". What?! It would be very easy to get off trail and lost here. Please...either update your maps or post better indicators on the trails.

Best state park

Dillon has so much to offer. Camping is fun. The shower house was clean and has hot water. Hiking trails, swimming beach and canoe rentals add to the adventure.

They rent cabins too and they are great in the winter.

Tent Camping is fun in a group! Until it rains 😀

Site 22
sie 2019
Site 22 is great for tents. The ground is level, electric, shade most of the day, fire ring and picnic table. The bath/shower house is approx.100 yards away. The facility is clean. Five small shower stalls with curtain doors are available. Each stall has one tiny seat and hook. The water is hot, however, the pressure stinks. When the remaining stalls filled up the pressure got even worse.
The campground is nice. The sites are spaced out so you will not be stacked on top of each other.
We did drive down to the beach. Huge warning signs made it very clear not to swim in the water, high algae and bacteria present.

Excellent all around

We just finished a 3 night camping trip here and it was awesome. The campsites are very spacious. Not a lot of them offer shade, so you have to get online and look carefully and I recommend using google earth to look. We had a very spacious and partly shaded site. The place is clean and quiet. They offer several playgrounds, a kids wading pool, a very large lake and beach. Basketball, tennis, frisbee golf, beach volleyball, mountain biking. I took advantage of the mountain bike trails and they are well maintained and kept up. This is probably one of our new favorite camping places to go. There is plenty to do in Zanesville if you want to go out on the town. The shower house in the loop we were in could use some updating but other than that we were very happy with our stay at Dillon. YOu can check out Dillon Dam which is pretty cool as well.

You call that mud puddle a lake?
lip 2019 • Dla rodziny
We wanted to swim and jet ski on a roasting hot Saturday. At the beach, there is mud instead of sand. Oh well, we'll take out the jet ski. Didn't realize the water was 24 or so inches deep and the jet ski sucked mud into the impeller and stalled. Jumped in to walk it back to the beach; sank into muck up to our shins in the best places and nearly to our knees at the beach. As soon as we were able to drag the jet ski out, we loaded up and left. Terrible.
