Hidden Gem full of history
wrz 2020 • Pary
This is a hidden Gem in the heart of Hilliard on the Franklin County Fair Grounds. There are several old buildings from the 1800's and early 1900's. Most all of them were moved from other areas in or around Hilliards. The old railroad terminal, old pair of railroad crossing signals from downtown that was installed by my father in law who was a railroader and lived in Hilliards, there is also an old Church, a log 2 floor cabin with an outhouse, a old one room school, old covered bridge, old voting booth and many more items.
All of these are in a 19th century village green. The church is used for weddings, funerals and special events. The voting booth has large wheels similar to the old covered wagons. They were pulled by horses then later by tractors to vacant lots, parks. They had a small pot belly store to keep the election officials and voters warm on cold day. There were normally room for 2 or 3 voters at a time to vote. The one room school house normally had students from first grade to 8th grade, all being taught by one teacher.
In the same area where the historic village is located there is also a large building which is the Historical Society Museum with several antiques.
The village has several park benches that enable you to sit and rest while enjoying the view.

Interesting little village
cze 2019
This little village seems to be a hidden gem. I really enjoyed going there, but the hours seem limited. I think that going during Franklin County fair time is about the best.

When the historical buildings are over run with hot, sweaty people!
lip 2019 • Pary
The historical buildings are still open during the Franklin County Fair, but no one looks then. Instead hordes of the sweaty from the surrounding county descend on the carney games, carney rides, food, animal competitions and more. You gotta go at least once in your life. Da wife really loves the weekend they have harness racing. Sure it’s about 90 degrees in the metal stands but it’s tradition.

Go! At least once!

This is a nice place to gather with the historic buildings that take your back in time. There is a museum to walk through, benchs and picnic tables.

Great historical snapshot of Northwest Franklin County

This quaint historical village has a variety of buildings to explore. You can check out the one room school house, log cabin, and church. There's a small museum with a great variety of artifacts that are arranged by theme. Bonus is visiting the caboose at the holidays when you can meet Santa.

The good ol days

My husband and I took our 15 month old here. Most of the buildings were locked but what we could enter was great. The volunteers here were friendly and we learned a lot from them.

Historic Buildings from the past
paź 2015 • Pary
We just happened to find this place. The buildings were closed, but we could still look around. They have several different buildings, a school house, church, caboose, and others.

Apparently they offer tours during the day.
