Interesting visit
paź 2020
This is a fascinating site - both for the Roman mosaics which a win good condition and have a lot of colour and also because it was such an early tourist site. The finds are fragmented into rooms - which makes it difficult to appreciate the vastness of the original site.

Amazing site. Mosaics were stunning and explanatory notes really clear. Didn't get as much time as we would have liked so will come back

After cycling up to visit from Amberley on a sunny Friday afternoon we were a bit disappointed to note the "open *Saturdays and Sundays only" in the small print...

this is a wonderful example of a roman villa set in the heart of the wessex countryside, plenty of parking with a sweet little cafe.

We really enjoyed visiting the Roman Villa. It was really informative and the mosaics were stunning. The tearoom was lovely too. The staff were very polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Visited the Villa recently having checked beforehand about access etc as came with disabled member of family. Mosaics and Villa were great but it would have been nice if the gate to the disabled parking had been open and there were disabled toilets

We had been meaning to come to the Roman Villa for a while and so pleased we finally got round to going. Spent a good few hours looking around this lovely, historic area. Full of beautiful mosaic floors and many artefacts, it’s very interesting and makes you realise how lucky we are to have such beautiful history still in tact.
There is a really quaint tearoom with lovely teas and cakes and the staff are really helpful and friendly.
Definitely worth a visit!

Well worth visiting

Fortunately had a map as the signing was missing at some junctions. Welcomed by very helpful staff. Great mosaics. Followed in by a large school party which kept staff busy. However still found time to give us some tea.

Exquisite Roman mosaics

This is a small museum out in farmland, the site of a Roman villa has been an attraction for over 200 years. The Roman mosaics are some of the best in Britain and there are 9 all together, excavated in the 1800s. It is a small museum and the buildings over the mosaics were built in 1812, so are rare listed buildings in themselves so NO heat or electric light! There is a small cafe for tea and coffee. The team of three staff were fantastically welcoming and knowledgeable about the museum. On a quiet week day we spent 2 hours looking round. It’s really a very English site somewhat untouched by modern tourism.

A must see attraction

Wife and I visited this villa and were so pleased we did. The welcome at the ticket office was very very friendly and helpful and the entrance fee was inexpensive. The set up of the area is easy to walk around and the mosaics etc are well presented and there were staff on hand to explain things in greater detail. We were made to feel so welcome and it was an excellent couple of hours spent, they deserve success.
