About
Our bar & shop are open 6 days a week for you to enjoy a drink and take away some beers. Our bar is lovely and cosy with a wood burner for when it’s cold. A large viewing window lets you take a peek into the brewery and distillery and watch us in action on brewing days. For those warmer days we have plenty of spaced out seating among our cider apple trees in our pretty orchard, where you can enjoy sampling from our range of drinks produced on site. We produce a variety of beers, from rich porters or easy drinking session bitters to crisp refreshing pilsners and IPA’s. We press our own Sweeney Mountain Ciders and also have Henstone Distillery gins, and other spirits. We also offer wine, cocktails and soft drinks. Food available from 12pm - 7pm Wednesday - Saturday from our very own BBQ & smoker. BBQ chicken; burgers; pizzas & lighter options. Dogs and children are very welcome. A trip to Oswestry is not complete until you’ve visited us!

    Amazing Craft and BBQ 5*
Outstanding local craft brewery that doesn’t just deliver on the craft beers but also the food. The menu is extensive, and having been here several times, the beer, the BBQ, sides and fries are just made with love by someone who knows good food and beer. Feel privileged to have this on our doorstep, we shall keep returning . . . .
Thank you for your lovely review!

Gem of a place with amazing staff! Great ales on tap (took some home!). Food was amazing. We were lucky as gets packed, so top tip is to book. Definitely going again! You can even catch a heritage train next door for something different
That's great to hear, thank you!

    All round fabulous
We dropped on this place on our way down to wales, and we were so happy we did. Lovely place, I expect in summer it’s buzzing, but even on a drizzly day it was warm and welcoming. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and we both obviously had to try a sample of their brews. Without a doubt their elevate cider is the best cider I’ve had. I bought 6 bottles to take home. Wish I’d bought more now.

    Really good! Couple’s suggestions
The place is lovely, nice setting and very friendly. The 2 ales I had were fantastic aswell. Mocktail we had was very heavy on the lemon juice and very sour and close to undrinkable . Food was piping hot and tasty, few suggestions not criticisms, nachos were house made and nice but lacked like a cheese sauce or guacamole over the top so were a lil dry and unpleasant to eat. And they’re stated on the menu but I’m guessing we just didn’t see it, but the addition of deep fried mackerel/sardines on the sharing platter was a bit unorthodox and didn’t really fit the rest of the platter but otherwise all good, would come back again definitely and maybe try a different dish.

The way this business carefully adds products is laudable. The brewery has added beers to its range as the years have gone by. Now, Henstone Distillery is doing the same thing and making tasty chasers. I recently took the opportunity for my own cask of whisky. It's typical of this business that having promised to make it they have done so despite all the current diffficulties thrown up by the virus emergency. I'm delighted and look forward to sharing the contents of the cask with friends in several years time.

Great place to enjoy a pint or two of craft beer and if your the driver they have a fairly good selection of soft drinks.
We visit as often as we can, the weather has been perfect for drinking and eating outside. There is room inside to eat and drink but on poor weather days this will soon fill up, outside they do have a largish covered seating area which we have used when the weather has turned.
Food is excellent, portion sizes are great. Staff always very pleasant and helpful.

Food was really good, service was even better. We’ve found It’s rare in these post covid days that you find a single member of staff who is attentive and good at their jobs let alone a team full of them like what are at the Stonehouse. A special mention to Jen and Rosie who went out of their way to make sure we were looked after.

We had the crab special, the pork belly and seafood platter and more drinks than we could count for ~£75. All were really good.

To all the dog parents this is definitely a very pet friendly place and the staff were amazingly accommodating and friendly.

Thanks

We were staying at a campsite in Maesbury and saw a flyer for the brewery, it ticked a lot of boxes so we planned a visit (hint - book ahead if you want food, there were a few disappointed people).
When we arrived (a bit footsore after the 12km walk we did with the brewery as the end point) there were plenty of tables outside for us to enjoy some excellent beers (both cask and keg) before we ordered food.
The menu was really extensive and the food was fabulous, washed down with a gorgeous Henstone Gin.
Finally we had to try the Apple Brandy as a little 'digestif' - that was also really impressive.
Friendly staff attracting a nice crowd, there really wasn't anything I could criticise - even the 30 minute walk back to our campsite couldn't dampen my enthusiasm for the place!

Our first post lockdown eat out has been at Stonehouse Brewery this evening. It’s been just so enjoyable, so relaxed, very well organised and felt so normal. Although a coolish evening, well spaced tables under marquees in an apple orchard, where else?

The draught Station Bitter ON FORM!! My wife and our good friend Allen both had Cambrian Gold, as always, very moreish!

We’d been asked to book an arrival slot and a food ordering time. This worked really well.

Two of us had fish goujons with battered prawns and skin on fries. One had the garlic Tiger prawn special. All well presented, good portion size and served hot. Then, a traditional choice of puddings.

Above all, I must pay tribute to the staff. Well done, one and all, for making our evening really comfortable and enjoyable.

Thank you

I've been a fan of the Stonehouse Ales for a number of years but this was the first time we've spent an evening on site with friends.

Wonderful ale, cider and spirits at a genuinely decent price as you'd expect as you're drinking "at source".

Good choice of big hearty food again at a reasonable price.

Staff are very friendly, located in a wonderful rural setting and clearly attracts a "decent crowd".

Not many better places to spend an evening with friends.

We chose this restaurant based on reviews and being equidistant between us and family. We were not disappointed!

Our party ate pizza (Margherita), burger (Bad Santa from the December menu) and salad which were all high quality and plentiful portions.

Puddings were nice but not up to the same standard.

Would highly recommend and we will be back! It will be interesting to see the different options on the menu as they seem to change monthly.

Added bonus of a brewery on site. We bought some beers but had to takeaway as driving.

Went with friends for a drink and lunch. The only thing I will mark down is the service which wasn't very friendly but the rest was great.. Good drinks and beer (all very reasonably priced) and great BBQ food in huge portions and great value for money. Got a bit noisy in the indoor dining space when the brewery tour turned up but hey, it was great to see people again!
