Energising
paź 2020 • Dla rodziny
An great alternative to a beach walk. The trees and flowers are beginning to bloom the woodland walk was totally energising just the odd pompous grumpy fool who couldn't understand why my sons dog was allowed in I tried to explain that he has autism and the dog was from a helping charity. But we all know those perishing people who are sticklers for rules. Apart from a few " stuffy head shakers" he had a fantastic day out and so did Dougies.

I can highly recommend this place the staff were brilliant friendly helpful and above all understanding. A big thank you.

Fantastic park
kwi 2021 • Pary
First thing is it’s amazing dogs are not allowed here. Sick of entitled dog owners spoiling everywhere. It’s private land so not sure why people think they have the right to complain. Best bit is the viewing seat near the folley. It’s a shame during covid it’s become so busy with people who can’t move to one side. I hope these kind of visitors taper off soon.

Love it!!! but hate tourists treating it like a toilet and rubbish bin they should hang there heads in shame, I feel sorry for the owners and staff who have to deal with public not respecting a gift like this place

Gorgeous walk but on our way out we were approached by a bald guy who really thought it was ok to stand there and try to give us grief my children were very scared as it was starting to get dark he was very intimidating complete jobs worth pathetic little man he said it was because it shuts at sunset I mean what time is sunset the sun was just going down very much off putting especially when the views etc is so lovely and then to walk out with a horrid little man standing there, unprofessional manner with dealing with public!!!

Should be lovely but mole traps :-(
paź 2020 • Pary
We enjoyed a lovely walk however there were lots of traps set up around the river to kill moles. Only mole I’ve ever seen and it was dead in a trap. One of them was out on the grass and it was such a sad sight. I would rather enjoy nature and wildlife in a place that respects and values it.

Nasty Little Bald Man
paź 2020
Earlier today I approached the entrance to Hulne Park in my car,as it was raining heavily, to read the signage. A little angry looking bald man came out of the Gate house, he was clenching his fists and had the bearing of a right wing football hooligan.Anyway we parked in an appropriate place and thought nothing of it, there are alot of people like that..The trees and river were wonderful and we had a pleasant walk. On coming toward the gate to leave, I popped into the bushes to have a quick pee, despite the heavy rain. On coming out I was greeted by the angry bald man, who became threatening, clenching his fists and was verbally abusive, agressively saying we were all the same,he took my registration number and shouted telling me to never come back. This man is not fit to hold a position where he comes in contact with the public. His owners should keep him on a lead or they will eventually find themselves in legal trouble.

Pleasant walks through forest and parkland
wrz 2020
We parked for free on the road leading up to the main gate and entered the park as it opened at 11am. Of the three alternative colour coded paths we chose the red one measuring 4.7miles. This circular walk took us on gravel road paths down to the river and below Hulne Priory. We entered the Priory through the closed gate and spent 10 minutes viewing the ruins and some interesting statues.

A Joy
wrz 2020 • Pary
My husband and I did the blue route around the park it was an absolute pleasure. We saw so many pheasants, deer, rabbits, birds and a cheeky little weasel. It was quiet only passed about 10 people on the whole walk. We went up to the Abbey bit creepy!
Glad we didn't see the gate man after reading the reviews and I hope the man who was taken poorly recently whilst walking here is better

Odious gatekeeper
wrz 2020
Walked red route in Hulne Park on 8th September 2020, on the return part of the walk my, usually fit and healthy, husband became ill and could not continue. I ran the two and a half miles back to where where my car was parked just outside the gate. There was no-one around for me to ask for help, so I took the decision to drive back through the park to pick up my husband who had not moved from where I left him, and who was now looking very sick.
Driving back to the gate, the "gate man" closed one of the gates in front of us so we could not leave, I wound my window down to explain that my husband had taken ill during the walk. He asked what the problem was and when I replied he told me "he shouldn't come here if he can't walk". I didn't have time to respond, my husband was becoming more ill and I needed to get him some help.
The situation was an emergency, I would never have driven into the park for any other reason, this horrible, horrible man made me feel distressed and humiliated.
Its obvious that Northumberland Estates dont want people spoiling their park and that's why they employ this odious person.
A suggestion to the Estate: the board at the entrance to the park reads "No Cycles" "No Dogs". Perhaps they should add "No Disabled" - that way they dont have to put up with people who "can't walk" sneaking into the park and upsetting the gateman.
