Closed :(

Would have loved to visit but this was the only attraction for the day closed on a Monday. We will try again, but hopefully this was a glitch and not the norm.

Great little bit of history
cze 2018 • Dla rodziny
Great little history spot. Some war history, train history and history of the displaced persons camp at Northam (which was of particular interest of my Grandmother who was with me as she was a resident there as a child after the War).

Well laid out with good interpretative signs. Pity about the vandals who smashed up one of the train carriages (need a good smack on the head).

The attendant, who used to work on the railways, was like an encyclopaedia. Great experience

Northam Heritage Precinct
wrz 2018
Get a fantastic overview of the history of Northam including significance of the railway, war history, migrant impact and many key displays. A must do if you are in Northam. Open and manned by volunteers on weekends or people can book tours at other times. Gold coin donations.
Brilliant place for photo shoots, weddings, historic shoots, photography classes.

Issue with opening times
mar 2018 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
I did a bit of research about opening days and hours and was beaten by the inconsistencies. The brochure from the town visitors centre had different details from the website and from the hours posted on the centre window. Perhaps with a volunteer organisation you cannot guarantee opening. I missed out, but could look over the fence at some of the exhibits.

Interesting trip into history
paź 2017
Belle and Yvonne were informative guides for the prearranged tour for our group of 28 seniors. many of whom were reminded of the past as they walked through the exhibits.

CUTE

very pretty, very quaint. but certainly not worth a trip just to see it. situated in the Avon valley which again is pretty & am sure nature lovers would love it, but a heck of a drive & close to one horse towns such as northam & too-jay. I wouldnt waste my time.

Very interesting

The old railway station hosts more than just railway memorabilia - there are also items relating to the old Northam Army Base and the VC winner who was born in Northam, Capt H Throssell, and the town of Northam in general. I loved the eclectic mix of displays.

My family always look forward to going back to Northam for visits.

Northam has a long colourful history. Most of the town buildings and houses remain intact which gives the place an atmosphere of nostalgia. The streets are named after the first settlers who are buried in the Northam Cemetery. The Cemetery is maintained by a wonderful local volunteer.

Trip back in time
wrz 2016 • Biznesowy
What a wonderful trip down memory lane. So many things on display that related to my childhood days. Loved it.
The Railway Station its self is just fascinating, easily taking you back to the day of a by gone era. Then all the extra displays of early life in Northam. Two lovely volunteers helped us out on the day as well as sharing any information that we were looking for and wanting to know. Will easily go again. Well done to all those involved in keeping it up and running.

Nice Display of Railway Memorabilia
cze 2016 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
Was home visiting my mother and she had a painting of an old train done by a Railway Firemen my Dad worked with. Decided to donate it to the local Railway Museum here in Northam. The volunteers who work there let me have a look around and I was glad I took up the offer. Lots of memorabilia, including photos and static displays. Saw some photos of some of my relations who were railway workers. Well worth a visit if your passing through town. The volunteers are only too willing to answer any questions you may have.
