Just go
maj 2021 • Pary
My husband had bought a online voucher for luxury high tea with wine and gift,I searched online the reviews and was pessimistic to go...was it going to be a hit or miss event.
The whole experience was fantastic one of the best high teas, and done a few now.
On arrival into the cafe area of the chateau we were greeted and seated by friendly faces. We were given a choice of a dry glass of bubbles or a Moscato and advised the tour included would begin in ten minutes.
The tour of the museum thou not of personal interest, being mostly porcelain was very interesting and the guide was so passionate of the area the estate and its contents.
The first course was served on leaving the tour ,two tiers of sublime savoury miniture bites.Savoury puffs cucumber bites sandwiches caramelized onion tart etc We were offered a palate cleanser..omg the lemon sorbet was divine!!! With another glass of bubbles each we then divulged in the next two tiers of
sweet delights upon its delivery including delicious macarons, mini eclair, the lightest scones with homemade jam, brownie mini cheesecakes etc.The quality of the food was exceptional the quantity was generous. Tea and coffee was offered happily. The service was fantastic, tables were cleared promptly and food delivered without being rushed.Being quite a busy environment it was very intimate.
We entered the lovely gift shop and were given discounts on our purchases and also were given a small gift...we were overwhelmed by the experience and the generosity of the hosts.
An amazing day .
Fantastic customer service .
Outstanding food.

Good food and wine and a amazing tour of Hermann Thumm’s extensive collection of porcelain
kwi 2021
We purchased a groupon for the morning tea and wine tasting & lunch platter plus the tour of Hermann Thumm’s extensive collection of porcelain. The tour was very interesting and I was surprised at the pieces on display. I did not know that this existed in South Australia and was blown away by the collection. The food and service was very good as well. The gardens are extensive and well worth a walk around the roses and other plants. If you like european porcelain from the 17th and 18th century plus other artworks then this is a must as I have only seen similar displays in Europe. You have to book a specific tour as its not open for general admission.

A amazing find
mar 2021 • Pary
Was staying in Lyndoch when one of the staff mentioned this place I had never herd of it but I’m glad we stuck around and saw it. A treasure trove of amazing porcelain pottery and lots of other interesting items they only do guided tours and it’s not open to the public. But if ur in the area check it out.

Groupon Deal
kwi 2021 • Pary
Visited this place on a Groupon promotion and was not disappointed. Stately chateau with Rose garden and views. Lovely eclectic winery and gift shop. Devonshire tea, tour of the antique room, wine, food platter. All very delicious. Very welcoming and professional service. Felt at home. Enjoyed every minute.

Recommended.

Highly recommend a visit.

We used a gift voucher for the total experience and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The staff were welcoming, very friendly and attentive.
The morning tea was delicious with great scones, home made jam and lots of real fresh cream.
This was followed by an interesting and informative tour of the fabulous china and furniture collection..
Our light lunch of the shared charcuterie platter and choice of wine was more than adequate and my white wine glass was nicely chilled.
A great place for locals and tourists alike and worth the drive from Blackwood.

Disappointing
mar 2021 • Znajomi
Whilst a lovely venue, this could have been so much better. Very little information was provided by the tour guide, and the High Tea was very disappointing. Too little, and not especially tasty either. Even two of the glasses of champagne served were almost flat and not cold. The last straw was probably that teabags were used in the teapots! A High Tea at least deserves real tea leaves. Lots of wasted opportunities IMO

Not Twee Enough
mar 2021
High Tea: The High Tea was moderately OK. It would have been dynamic if they had "Barossa-ed" it and made it uniquely local. After all, there are a lot of High Teas around and a good High Tea should be very, oh so very, twee! and this wasn't.
Selections should be from the very famous vintage Barossa Cookery Book. Jelly cakes, lamingtons, cream puffs, Angel cakes, apple slice, anything with wattle seed and something involving grapes instead of brownie slice, macaroon, mini blueberry tart and cupcake.
But don't change the scones: they were delicious and appropriate!
As for the savoury selection, again it should be linked to the Barossa, and here the vintage cookbook would offer some astonishing selections and ideas.

Don't waste your money!

I paid for 2 Groupon vouchers for this experience totalling $180. Terrible experience! Definately nothing like advertised on Groupon. And the free gift.. theres a small corner of cheap items to pick from so it doesn't matter if you chose luxury or standard high tea. Didnt even get everything advertised on the luxury high tea. Waste of money! Worst high tea ive ever experienced!
