I can confirm this park is amazing! I literally live across the street from it and have my entire life. Awesome place to take my dog and the playground is good for younger kids!

Great park for walking and running, extensive lawns, playgrounds, rose garden, sports fields, track facilities, tennis courts, an archery range and stadium. Beautiful fall trees colors.

Best park around, most people are training, walking, running, not much in the way of riff raff. Usually lots of people anytime day or night and it's a fabulous park. Highly recommend for yourself or family. Great spot.

I have driven by Brookdale Park a few times on the way to other destinations. I had no idea until earlier this past Spring that within it was a rose garden. So I grabbed my camera and made a trip to check the garden out specifically.

It's not a big area when you see it. It's truly a garden. 15,000 square feet I read. It was established in 1959. It's divided into separate beds. 1500 bushes with over 100 varieties. I had no idea there were that many. I have visited there now 3 times this past Spring. Last visit was in mid June. They were starting to wilt away at my last trip. At any rate. There were a variety of colors and shades of them. Captured some of them and shared here,

It truly is a nice spot to walk through. Not long. Probably can do it in less than a half hour. Being a amateur photographer I obviously spent longer there.

There are benches around the perimeter of the garden that you can sit and take in the beauty. Definitely worth stopping by when in season and in the area.

This park does not have ducks and geese, so the grass is clean. Plus, many huge trees provide a lot shade. The rose garden is small but beautiful. Unleashed dogs are limited in a dogs park in the Brookdale park. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy sunny weekends with kids, this definitely is a perfect park. I personally recommend the grass near the rose garden.

My wife and I visit the park often to do our walking exercise. There are two loops around the park -- the inner loop that's shorter and easier, and the outer loop that's about 1.5 miles in distance and contains some uphill walk. We enjoy doing the outer loop. We love it for several reasons. The slight uphill walk adds to the sense of exercise, and when we complete the loop twice, it takes us about an hour and leaves us feeling happy. Also, since it's the outer loop, we are not distracted by the many activities that are happening inside the large park. We love it.

Going here for years. From picnics to jogging. Arts and craft shows to famous cherry blossom season. Miles to walk. Feels like NYC Central Park. Gorgeous fall foliage.

This is a great place to go for a walk or just sit and enjoy the scenery and the people going by. There's a doggy park. It is always well kept.

I may be partial because I grew up in this park. As a kid, my family and my cousins and their families all came here and we'd spend the day bbq-ing, playing frisbee, softball, and playing on the playground equipment. Back then there was a big pond in the center, but that was dried up and removed, I guess it's not safe? Anyway, this park is for everyone. There are lovely walking/running paths, dog park, a lovely Rose garden, running track, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, biking along the road that runs through it, there are even secret little sections of woods where there are paths for off road biking... Did I mention the tennis courts and archery field, and the exercise stations along the main path? The street that runs through it used to go all the way around, and as a teenager you could "cruise" the park, but I guess they closed it off on each end to discourage that. Anyway, a great park and respite from the "city".

This is a good recreation facility, but it has a strange traffic configuration. When you drive in, you have to drive all the way to the other end of the park to turn around to go out the same way you came in. Seems like a odd situation.
