Great views
paź 2020
Great shortish hike with some verticle. Really super views on top, but must move around to see in all directions. Super crowded the day we went, cars on both sides of Hurricane Road(a little scary itself), but top is so large really did not seem to crowded on the top. Only complaint is that it is also a bicycle trail and many people rent bicycles. Sign says to yield to bicycles but was almost run over several times by daredevils, glad we did not have our grand daughter with us. Surprised that no one has gotten hurt.

An easy hike to a summit
wrz 2020 • Pary
This is the easiest summit near north conway. It might take you a while because of the incline and people with bad knees won't enjoy the way back as much but take your times it's worth it to see the summit. We saw little kids, elderly and dogs on this hike so try it out. Sadly it's closed during winter but wear a mask and social distance please.

Short and fun hike with great views at the top.

This hike is a good hike for first-timers. It's short and not challenging. The views at the top are lovely. I'd suggest getting there before 9am to avoid so many people.

Short and easy hike up.
wrz 2020
We were here this past Monday morning, started with sun, ended up at the top with clouds and overcast. Pretty easy hike, 1.1 each way. Takes about 30-40 mins up and down. Cool view of downtown North Conway, can see Cathedral Ledge, overlooks one of the chairlifts from Mt. Cranmore. More rocks at the top, flat smooth to get to the top like the last 1/8 of a mile. Views are better to the far left overlooking N. Conway than from the very top. Its an easy hike for the most part.

Perfect Hike
sie 2020
Enjoyed hiking to the top of Black Cap Mountain. This is a short hike with moderate elevation, about 2.2 miles round trip. We did not get to see the views from the top as it was fogged in but we totally enjoyed this hike in the White Mountains and would recommend it to others.

Short but beautiful trail for the family
sie 2020
Fairly easy family hiking trail; lovely view of the valley from the top. We gained a total of ~600Ft from the parking lot. Kids aged 7-11 loved it all through. most part is easy some rocky ledges and loose gravel spices it up

Close by hiking
cze 2020
To the side of North Conway center, close by, beautiful trail, a few hours for up down and hanging on top looking at amazing views. Driving to the trail head is an adventure in itself. Climb climb climb on newly pave road to get to trail. Not hard and can hike, get exercise, but have time to do other things as well.

Fabulous views!
paź 2019 • Pary
Majestic views over the valley. Easy hike, suitable for all ages. It can get slippery and wet so make sure to have the right hiking shoes! You will be on rock once you reach the top and it is so much safer in shoes that have good grip.

Splendid views with modest effort
wrz 2019
My wife and I hiked from the parking lot on Hurricane Mt. Road, via the Black Cap Trail to the summit, then descending via the Black Cap Connector Trail and the Black Cap Trail to return. This was a loop of about 2.3 miles, with a little over 600 feet of ascent. The parking lot was almost full on a September weekday, so I have to imagine it could be completely full on many weekends or summer weekdays. The area attracts lots of mountain bikers -- we saw quite a few on the trail. I have to recommend the Black Cap trail itself, which in its last portion ascends over many open ledges (with excellent views) while not being terribly steep. By contrast, the Black Cap Connector is more gradual in its ascent, but much less open with fewer views. I'd recommend that you go the Black Cap trail in at least one direction for its better views, unless you really don't like traveling on open ledges. Many other route options could be added, as there are trails to the top of Cranmore Mt. Ski Area, and also to Peaked and Middle Mountains. The view from the top of Black Cap is excellent, ranging from Chocorua in the southwest, to many peaks west and northwest, and around to the Baldfaces to the NNE.
