Easy to reach beauty
maj 2021
Beautiful spot. I love the fact that it is next to the ocean where someone like me who isn’t a good swimmer can swim in a rock pool safely.

So easy to get to from Yamba. I hiked all the way there and it only took me an hour and a half.

Also, another good way to get here from Yamba is to ride a bike. There’s a wide bike lane that makes this general area a bicyclist paradise.

Nice Photo Opportunity

We walked down to the Blue Pool which had been a quarry to get the sandstone for the break wall at Yamba.
It is really nicely set up with several entry points in order to go swimming. Unfortunately it is quite full of algae, so it is no longer a popular swimming hole.

Fantastic Spot for the Family
wrz 2019
We stayed nearby at Big4 Yamaba and went on day trips to the beach and Angourie Blue Pool. Very unique experience swimming in a fresh water hole and with options for thrill seekers to jump off cliff faces into deep water hole. Lots of fun for all ages and different levels of cliff jumps allow all ages to face their fears and enjoy a cool swim in a fresh water hole. We loved it so much we visited twice during our 5 day stay in Yamba.

Disapointed
lis 2019 • Znajomi
Having previously visited here many years a go I was a little disappointed. The last time I came the pools were full of kids jumping in and families swimming all through and the water looking blue and fresh. This time it was completely green we were to worried to swim after seeing the big sign out front saying to be aware of algae.

beautiful tranquil place. Green algae on surface of pool is of concern though?

I would like to bring my family here for a picnic/play in the rock pools & ? swim in the pool if the algae was controlled. Nice place to visit just the same.

Love this spot, but beware of algae.
wrz 2019
This is one of our favourite spots to visit with kids when in the Yamba area. However, blue green algae has become problematic in recent years. Best advise is to check the local councils website ( or call them) and get an update on water conditions. Water is tested regularly. Follow their advise. My kids were so disappointed that the advise was not to swim..but better to be safe than sorry. People do disregard the advise and swim in the pools often. Do some research and make an informed decision. Looking forward to swimming there again oneday soon :)

Great Swimming Hole.

This place is so busy in summer, especially on weekends.
It is winter here (although today you would not think so) but even though, I was surprised to see no one here.
Only a five minute walk from the car park.
Visited today to show family.

A surprise
maj 2019 • Znajomi
Staying in Yamba, it only takes 10 mins to nearby Angourie. The blue and green pools are a pleasant surprise. Created by mining in the late 1800s, has left amazing landscape.
What a pleasant surprise. Worth seeing.

GORGEOUS! Absolutely a must see!

It's just glorious & kids love jumping off the rocks. Plenty to explore - 2 pools, & a large rock platform. All to die for. A must see!!!! Not sure if there is algae or not but you just have to see it anyway - up to you to swim. Just a beautiful & delightful spot - reminds me of the gorges in WA and NT. Take a picnic...!!!

Great fun for a day trip, but Blue Green algar beware
lut 2019 • Znajomi
The Blue pool is gorgeous, lots of fun for a group, trees around for shade and free parking. The Green pool doesn't look quite as appealing. It really is a lovely spot right on the beach and we really enjoyed our day there. However, we ignored the signs that said there could be blue green algae in the water and as the water looked clear and clean we went in anyway. 3 out of 8 of us ended up with symptoms which resembled that of blue green algae sickness. Our fault, we were warned!
