Great day
kwi 2021 • Dla rodziny
I have been here several times, each time I learn more about the ships' history and discover something new. My children 9 and 12 loved exploring the ships, they got to see their great grandfather's name on the USS Massachusetts crew. Great family day! We definitely be back.

This is an interesting place for folks of all ages. We enjoyed the self guided tours, and just being able to look around. The ships are preserved as they were during their service, right down to the small details like the logo on the crates of apples or calendar in an office open to 1963. Lots of videos and information in different places for those who want to learn more.

Exploring WW2 era ships, lots of fun and lots of access everywhere! Easy to lose your party, though, just by peeking around some corner, and most likely no phone service.

Superb history site! Even my wife, who is not a history nut, enjoyed it. The experienced has been much improved by self-guided tours laid out in the Massachusetts, though the directional signs need to be larger and the route of tour explained better (is it a loop or one-way-in-one-way-out?). Those tour routes are such an improvement - before you were left to explore the ships on your own, which is great to do but a bit random. I saw things on this trip that I had never discovered on 2 previous visits. Well done to the staff for adding those! Also, more explanatory signs along the way would be very much appreciated. Having said that, the amount of information, the videos of interviews with crewmembers, and sheer number and quality of displays all over the ships is way above what I would expect of this kind of attraction. Take as much or as little time as you like - my wife and I spent 4 hours and still didn't manage to see everything.

Definitely worth the three hour trip to get there.

Because we live three hours away, we didn't have enough time to really exam the USS Massachusetts. We toured the smaller ships first and then went back to the car for lunch. After lunch, we toured the Massachusetts and my 29 year old son couldn't get enough of it. He walked ahead of us and with each room he'd go into, all we'd hear from him was WOW! Yes, he LOVES battleships and the Massachusetts didn't disappoint. We have been to the USS New Jersey in New Jersey and the USS Wisconsin in Virginia several times so we're very familiar with battleships. Since my husband and I are in our late 60's, our legs and knees did start to ache (Lol!) by the time we left the ship. Climbing over the doorways got more difficult as the day went on but we all enjoyed our day at Battleship Cove and felt it was well worth the three hour trip each way. We just wish we had more time! I felt the gift shop had reasonable prices but it could use a few more t-shirt choices. (Who was with you? Could only answer Family (teens). There was no option for just Family.)

A walk through history and stories from the past.
wrz 2020
My parents visited years ago due to the Destroyer on display (USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. DD850 ) being a sister ship to the ship he served on (USS William R,Rush DD714 ) during the Korean War. My father told of his stories at sea and now I had the opportunity to experience what he spoke about in great reverence. They called these ships"Tin Cans" and after setting foot on the "Joey P" I was in total awe to the men who sailed the world on such a small ship. My wife and I spent about 5 hours touring the ships and submarine (really need 2 days to take it all in) and due to time constraints, could not return for the second day. Sadly my parents are no longer with us but I felt their presence while walking the decks of the ships they toured so many years ago. I imagined my father and remember the excitement of his stories as a young sailor, who cherished his time as a "Tin Can Sailor"learning a trade along with receiving three hots and a tiny shared cot to sleep on. I will return again and plan for more time.

Battleship Cove is special for presenting in one place WW2 Battleship, Cruiser, submarine, PT boats, landing craft and even a cold war Russian ship. The grounds are pretty. The gift shop is nice. I withhold the 5th star because the battleship could use much restoration. Overall its a wonderful experience.

Delightful Experience!
wrz 2019
It's very beautiful here, I grew up in fall river and have been here a couple of times. But I really don't remember the last time I went to Battleship Cove. But the view is quite nice! It's interesting because, I believe most of America's history is Battleship Cove, so it is quite interesting has more history. Recommended to go though!

Loved how it's self guided and you can check things out on your own. But it would have been nice to have more information on the ships
