Excellent Book Lovers Bookshop
lis 2018 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
What a great bookstore! Outstanding and intriguing selection, about 95% of which are used books, according to the owner. Prices are very reasonable. All books in excellent condition, and a good variety of genres for adults and some beautiful childrens books. The kind of place where you can browse and find unexpected treasures. Added Benefit: The shop itself is an open, airy space with city views in the Fine Arts Building on Michigan Ave just a few blocks from Art Institute. It's an historic 1885 building with the motto “ALL PASSES - ART ALONE ENDURES" that once housed a bookstore designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. A FLW window is still displayed there, as is other artwork. Just a treasure in the city.

Look At The Bean and Lake Michigan From A Quiet Nook In The Fine Arts Building
lip 2018 • Znajomi
Yes, Yes, you're tired of being jostled at Bean in Millennium Park and on Michigan Ave. Head to the Fine Arts Building which is amazing in and of itself. Then walk the marble steps to the second floor or take the elevator still manually operated by an elevator operator and look out the windows of The Dial Bookstore in seasonal comfort. You will start to notice an exceptional collection of new and used volumes well selected for any area of interest. The shop is owned and run by a couple who bring professional expertise to their selections on the shelves. Sit down in the hallway to peruse a volume. Perhaps you will now want to wander some of the other floors of the building. The cafe on the main floor is ok but tourist pricey
