Time slows here

One of the smallest of parks but quiet and beautiful. Staff is very friendly. You don't go here to get wowed, but to slow down and relax.

Looked great! Cabins looked very nice! Picnic facilities, walking areas, sufficient parking, looked like a good place to have family/friends gatherings!

Adorable State Park
cze 2020 • Znajomi
It’s lovely! A nice 2 mile hike and then a trail around the lake. Great place to picnic, rent paddle boats 30 minutes is $5 or $15 for one hour. The paddle boat area is not that big so 30 minutes is really all you need. Fishing with a license and parking is $5. ( bring cash because it’s the drop in a envelope system). The cash box is right at the entrance of the park. We missed it our first round. It’s easy to miss so keep a eye out. Loved the place. Only a hour and a half drive from north of Atlanta.

Great little place to "get away from it all".

DON'T USE YOUR GPS TO FIND IT. Use a map.
We love this State Park. Only 25 spaces and 30Amps. All are easy back in. All spaces are NOT right next door to your neighbor (big plus).
Walking trails from the campground are relatively easy. The walk down to the lake is amazing.
Book early because they sell out of spaces very quickly.

Great place for a hike

We needed to get out and get some fresh air. This place had a cool trail that lead to a near little waterfalls. Easy drive from metro ATL area.

We hiked the marble mine trail. It was doable with a toddler and pregnant lady. Fun hike! You can rent paddle boats and kayaks. We didn't but it looked cool. There's a playground and lots of picnic tables. Great park! Lots to do!

We enjoyed our cabin stay. It was well equipped and very clean. This entire park is very well maintained. Saw lots of deer, enjoyed the lakes and trails.

What a pleasant surprize!

We were headed home to West Ga from Cloudland Canyon and discovered this park. It has a beautiful lake, nice welcome center, and friendly rangers. They have several trails around and near the lake that we hope to come back at a later time to explore. We
really liked that this state park seems to be kept up really well. We ever drove around to the campsites and cabin areas and they are pristine, just like the lake itself. They have pedal boats and kayaks that you can rent. We will certainly be back!

Upper Lake Rim, Jenkins Gap, Pinhoti, Marble Mine - Loop hike
cze 2019 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
This 4.6 mile loop hike is not for the faint of heart. I have seen reviews in various places, but wasn't expecting this EXTREMELY steep hike. After I got back, I found reviews that talk about needing to be a Ninja to complete - and I would have to agree. I hiked it counter-clockwise and I am glad I did. According to Trailrunproject dot com the Jenkins Gap grade is a 33% grade and I feel much safer going uphill, rather than down. Once you got through that portion, the rest of the trail was a breeze! Felt like a great accomplishment, once it was completed.
