Town Hall

Chettipunyam Veeravalli Rungacharlu OR C.V. Rangacharlu, was an Indian civil servant and administrator who served as the Diwan of Mysore kingdom from 1881 to 1883 and was the first Diwan of Mysore following the restoration of monarchy in the Kingdom of Mysore. It is in his memory that this place is named after as The Rangacharlu Memorial Hall or simply Mysore Town Hall which was constructed in 1884. The building is now under the care of the Mysore City Corporation and is presently used for various cultural activities.

Frankly speaking, there isn’t much to see here apart from the good architecture on the exterior which seems to be built in the Victorian/Roman style and is surrounded by lush green courtyard. Its location is quite close to the city bus stop and is bang next the big clock (Dodda Gadiyara).

Town Hall of Mysuru

Well known as "Town Hall of Mysuru" this historic building sits in the heart of Mysuru City. Visitors are advised to take a look at all the four sides of this building. If you get a chance to go inside, it is worth it.

Surprisingly interesting Town Hall

When we arrived at this impressive building, we chanced upon a rehearsal of a day-long play at the Hall. The stage settings for the day were really impressive and the theatre group seemed very competent. It's obviously seen its hay days, but the enthusiasm of the Mysore theatre scene keeps it going.

The City boasts of many cultural events that are performed to a very high standard be it theatre, music, folk dances and an array of sculpture, folk art and so on.

A beautiful building and that's it

The Rangacharlu Memorial Hall is also known as the Mysore Town Hall. Located near the City Bus Stand and the famed Mysore Palace, this building is built in the old Victorian fashion and retains the charm of those days. However, for a visitor, there is little to see here other than the building from outside and the Clock Tower (Dodda Gadiyara) next to it.

This is town hall of Mysure located in the  city center. The building  is quite old   and belongs to beginning of  19th century. It is a beautiful piece of  roman architecture, need to be maintained well if  it should continue attracting its large number of tourists.

Mysuru Town Hall

This town hall of the city, named as Rangacharlu Memorial, is a striking Roman-style architecture right across the palace, but alas is not given its due recognition as a tourist spot. It's got an impressively large courtyard with the Dodda Gadiyara (Big Ben) at its backdrop. Try visiting if you're in the heart of the city.
