Ask the guide to drop you on one side and then, take a walk through the tunnel, but be prepared its very dark. Its a bit of an adventure!

Interesting ride
mar 2019 • Dla rodziny
The tunnels are interesting and have plenty of light coming in, so no problem if you are closterphobic. Well maintained.

Not a big deal
gru 2017 • Znajomi
When going back from Embalse el Yeso the tour guide offered to stop at the Tinoco tunnel a place where a guy killed himself because of a broken heart. The tunnel became a place of pilgrimage for locals. The "tour" is going through the dark tunnel. I personally was concerned about robbery but everything went well.

Be sure to make a wish!
lut 2017 • Pary
Just a short stop on our day tour into Cajon del Maipo, this was easy an easy walk from the bus and very interesting. We enjoyed looking in and trying to read all the messages. We made our wishes and they are still coming true!

Was a little unsure
maj 2017 • Znajomi
Our guide stopped here on way to Embalse el yeso. Thought he was joking at 1st. They say the tunnel is haunted, but we didn't experience that. 6 of us managed to stumble through with the aide of our iPhone flash lights. Good for a laugh!

Tunnel
mar 2017
Do not bother going to this it is literally a dirty tunnel with traffic going through it. We stayed close by and walked so it was something we thought would be fun but it was very scary and dirty. Views around it were fantastic.

Tragic or weird? You choose
wrz 2016 • Pary
This is a disused railway tunnel located near the town of San Jose de Mapio (approximately 50 kilometres from Santiago) A worker called Willy Antonio Rojas Reyes was killed in its construction. Locals believe if you whisper a wish ‘favor’ down the tunnel the spirit of Willy will grant it. Each end of the 500 metre long tunnel have become a shrine to Rojas Reyes where everything from football scarves to graves of dead dogs can be found. It is possible to walk through the tunnel which is located right beside the main road. It only takes 10 minutes. Your cell phone torch will suffice. Tip: take a community taxi from the local township. They run pass the site every 10 minutes and are ultra cheap.

Old train tunnel right in the mountain
wrz 2016 • Dla rodziny
If you're in the area this a cool place to visit with young kids. My 7 and 3 year old we're thrilled walking through this old train tunnel. Nothing else to do there but it's worth the stop. We were on our way to The Santuario de la Naturaleza el Morado.

Little strange but lots of locals come here and help keep a myth going making it a shrine
maj 2016 • Pary
This is an old railroad tunnel. The myth is that someone who died here, Willy Antonio, speaks on the wind and can grant favors to people. Because of speaking on the wind there are many little pinwheels attached to a fence at one end of the tunnel. There are many little gifts and requests for favor and/or help also attached to the fence at one end. This has become a shrine. Walking through the tunnel is a short experience in Darkness (use your phone or flashlight for walking).
