5 of us travelled to Bali and thought a cooking day would be fun. We booked in and they collected us in the morning, took us to the local market where the locals buy their food. Then we went to their kitchen which is an outdoor kitchen. They showed us how to blend herbs, spices etc and then how to cook indonesian food. We assisted in the prep and cooking of 5 dishes. We then ate our tasty food and we all agreed we had fun day out.

Really awsome experience for a good value!!! All day of cooking, everything what we cooked, we could eat. The person who taught us how to cook was nice lady with funny sense of humour. Everything was well explained and I'm sure I'll be able to cook everything at home.

We did the afternoon cooking class and it was amazing in fact we are visiting Bali again that we are going to do another cooking class in October when we stay for 30 days. The tastes are like no other.

I arranged this cookery course in June as a treat for my family because I've taken part in a few cookery courses in Azie before and I have always really enjoyed them.
To tell you the truth, I wouldn't rave about this one and don't really understand all the positive reviews. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the market which was nice. On arrival at Dewi's house the cookery course takes place in her back garden, not the cleanest place in the world, most of the food was already prepared, it was just a case of cooking it up which the family members mostly did. I did feel it was more of a demonstration than that we were actually the ones cooking and learning something.
I must admit on this occasion Dewi was not the one giving the course (she must have been away) but anyway by half past 11 all the food was cooked and we were eating a huge meal (which we weren't really in the mood for so early in the day). I also found it quite expensive for what we got. This can no way be compaired to the courses which I did in Thailand (Apple Guest house, River Kwai, Thailand or Red Bridge Cookery school, Hoi An - Vietnam).
The family member who also drove some of us back to our hotel in Seminyak gladly told us that she didn't have a driving license and was laughing about it. Not exactly something you should be sharing with a car full of tourists! We arrived back at our hotel at 12:45 hrs, hence I wouldn't recommend this cookery course anyone. Sorry :-(

This was well worth doing, great experience, went to the market and then back to hotel to cook, then to eat for lunch what we had cooked.

I chose the meals I wanted to cook, Chef and I shopped for the ingredients and made the food in the ourdoor cooking/bbq area. Loved the experience and the food tasted nice too. Take home recipe to replicate the dishes.

80 minute cooking class - mainly demonstration by choice at this restaurant - very good
Two keen chefs - one with good English and also excellent understanding of gluten free.
Three course meal of traditional Balinese dishes. Only $30 and does not involve a market tour which many don't want

Sometime you are lucky to find a good restaurant ex: beach cafe
I think the bad restaurant are often changing name in order to go out from the iNTERNET critical point of vue.

Well organised, intensive, just enough to take in! We were 9 in total - would have preferred smaller group. Slightly pricey!
