Witness of historical event
lis 2016
This site of the garden where Guru Gobind Singh had a sip of water and a spell of brief sleep. It is believed that his three devotees Bhai Mani Singh, Bhai Daya Singh and Bhai Dharam Singh joined him here. This shrine witnessed historical event, has a beautiful building. An annual fair is held in December.

Machhiwara Gurudwaras- Reaching By Public Transport.
lut 2015 • Pary
I was at Fatehgarh Sahib for pilgrimage and decided to visit Machhiwara. If you have reached Fatehgarh Sahib with a hired car/cab, then your driver should be well verse with Punjab roads and route and thus travelling shouldn’t be an issue. On the other hand if you are planning to hire a car/cab in Fatehgarh, then I was told that there was not much opportunity to hire a car/cab in Fatehgarh, and you may have to travel to sirhind to get one. Though on the map Machhiwara is situated North west of Fatehgarh, and there might be direct routes via villages to reach machhiwara, I was advised by locals, that the best way to travel there, from Fatehgarh was to go to a town called Khanna via sirhind and take a bus from Khanna to Machiwara. However, for the elders, travelling by hired cars would still be the best option, at least for one reason, and that is – there are hardly any three wheelers to hire in Machhiwara, which means that you will have to walk, if you don’t have transport at hand. Bus to Khanna is conveniently available from a road side stop in front of Fatehgarh Sahib (opposite the telecommunication shops). Ask any one and they will point the direction. Fare is rupees 25. The Khanna bus stop is just off the grand trunk road in Khanna. You ask around for buses at this stop to Machhiwara. Services are regular as most of the buses are privately owned. Ticket costs around 25 rupees per passenger. The bus follows the Khanna –Samrala-Machhiwara road. The distance is only 28km but since these buses caters for people living along the route; they stop often and take about one hour to reach Machhiwara.
Though quite a number of Gurudwaras can be enumerated if you search the web in this region, I was told by the locals that there are 4 historical gurudwaras in Machhiwara town, which I visited. Gurudwara Gani Khan Nabi Khan Sahib is visible from the road near the bus stop. It is probably also called Gurudwara Uchch da pir. I have found this two gurudwaras documented separately in the web, but the locals told me that these two names, denote the same temple. Gani Khan and Nabi Khan were brothers who assisted Shri Guru Gobind SinghJi to travel disguised as their Muslim prophet.
From here you can walk via the lanes to reach Gurudwara Chaubara Sahib. A large earthen pot is kept in this gurudwara in which Guruji’s clothes were dyed. After this, ask around the directions to reach the main road and walk to the Gurudwara Charan Kanwal Sahib, which is the main Gurudwara of historical importance here. This Gurudwara is about 1.5Km from the bus station. The tree under which Guru spend the night is on your left side (when you are facing the SGGS) outside the Gurudwara. You must know, while looking at this tree, that it was under this tree that Shri Guru Gobind SinghJi recited ‘Mitar Payare Nu’. The well from which Shri Guru Gobind SinghJi had water is on your right side (when you are facing the SGGS).

Gurudwara Kirpan Bhet Sahib is located in the direction back. As you walk back on Rattipur road ( the road that bring you by bus to machhiwara town), after Bharti collections, approximately 1 km from the bus stop, there is a small road that turns on the left and goes in about 2km to reach this temple. An alternative will be to request the bus driver to drop you here as you are reaching Machhiwara, walk to this temple about 2Km and then proceed to the other temples in the sequence described above. The dipping of Kirpan into the food was first instigated at this location.
As for Hotel accommodation, there were hardly any visible. Sarai is available at Gurudwara Charan Kanwal Sahib, which is quite beautiful exteriorly, garden like settings, with 24 rooms. I however didn't stay here as I returned back to Fatehgarh Sahib sahib the same day. The last bus back to Khanna is around 7pm.
