    Loved loved this seaview stroll
Lungomare is more than a hundred years old and is one of the most picturesque seaview boardwalks I’ve ever experienced. We strolled the entire length, mostly smooth stone, over a few spring days and even saw a full moon rise one glorious evening. This walk away twists and turns, has shade and sunshine, and always a view of the sea. What’s not to love!

    Stunning seaside walk
Beautifully scenic walk from Volosko to Lovran, I started from Opatija and walked in both directions different days. There is stunning scenery at every step, and lots of stopping places to admire the view or rest a while. It's an easy walk, paved and flat.

    Take a leisurely stroll
Lungomare is a 12-km seaside promenade, initially constructed in 1889, which stretches all the way to Lovran. We did not walk the entire distance but just strolled along the section that runs thru Opatija. In central Opatija, it stretches in both directions right along the waterfront with scenic views. This is a great spot for strolling, and it offers striking views across the bay to Rijeka. As we strolled along, we took pictures of the opulent old villas, we could tell that some have been painstakingly restored, while others were decaying from neglect. Also, along the boulevard we found small platforms on which you can take a seat for a day of sunbathing and swimming in the sea. Lastly, there were plenty of opportunities to grab a meal or drink. Made for relaxing.

We did the complete walk from Lovran to Volosko, almost 12 km. We stayed in Rijeka and took the bus (Arriva) to Lovran and came back from Volosko by local bus (Autotrolej).
It’s a good walk with a lot of possibilities to drink and eat along the way. Also not too special in my opinion, hence the rating.
We liked the beginning and the end of the walk the most. Lovran and Volosko are beautiful.
On the way, there are 3 aqua fun parks, ideal for the children. We picked the one in Icici to have a longer stop in between.

Beautiful sunrise walks - great cafes/restaurants along the way (I loved the ones in Volosko), access to gorgeous gardens and shops. I enjoyed reading the historical plaques along the way. I especially liked Volosko-beautiful views!

This promenade and its many features are one of the main highlights of this resort. The area is very well kept and maintained, with many places to sit or relax. The views are also excellent as are surrounding architecture of the buildings. You are also surrounded with cafes/restauraunts and well manicured gardens to enjoy. There are also some historical plaques to view and give reference to your surrounding. I would recommend that you enjoy the sunset from here which is of course free of charge!.

In some places you can see that Opatija was once a popular vacation destination of the former aristocracy. If you like old villas and grand hotels, you will find them here. However, the great glamor is gone and the place has a somewhat morbid charm of its own. A place for true nostalgics.

Having stayed for a week, we tried this restaurant. The view is splendid, all the rest is bad. Especially compared with colleagues. The quality is just average industrial food at a high price. Staff is rude. We had twice to convince the waiter and show that we did not have risotto that they wanted to charge us for.
Its a classical tourist trap!

Great promenade, beautiful view, all the time walking by the sea. We came across a cafe, had a drink ... and continued. All in all very nice. Opatija has always been a beautiful place! By the way, there are great restaurants, but a little above the center! Be careful where you eat, it doesn’t have to mean where the best view is that the food is top notch as well

Old and decadent hotels. Food and altogether service still ages away from regular EU standards, so the high prices aren't justified. On top my wife + me had a terrible experience on a beach shop, where we refused to pay 5€ for a plastic bracelet for kids, and they started insulting us -the f.. word was used. Not the first such experience in Croatia, got similar in Dubrovnik; they just want you to leave your tourist money and move on. Another place to avoid
