My visit to the Maritime Museum was so beautiful. After looking for a place to visit in Douala, I thought this museum could be an option. With my staff we had great fun especially with the experience we got in the secret room

Basic content, I expected more interesting things. It remains a nice place to visit in Douala at once...

For kids and older, the pirogue simulator ont he top floor is a must! They also have a example of all the type of wood of Cameroon. And story of Douala port and boats is a nice think to learn.

Really interesting visit’ very nice staff too not massive museum but plenty to see. Cheap price considering what you get access to. Check opening times as they can be a little random

Interesting visit with so many historical pieces, our country had a rich background and this museum brings it all out. The storm room was by far the most interesting thing.

Outstanding maritime museum

My group of 20 visited this excellent museum and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of Douala. The guide was very knowledgable and answered all of our questions. The museum has 3 or 4 floors and a 3D ride. I highly recommend you visit when you are in the city.

Very good museum visit worth every penny

This was a great visit. The museum is divided in 3 sections: one floor dedicated to the history of the Wouri coast, the Sawa people, the origin of the city Douala, and of the name Cameroon, and slavery. The second floor tailors to boats, and what is in the boat, the naval experience. I really enjoyed this exhibit of a real boat control room, with all the different types of boats, and the safety features, as well as the ship simulator. The 3rd floor has a beautiful conference room shaped as the inside of a boat, and a 3D simulator room called "La salle de Tempetes" which is very good. The cherry on the cake is the roof part where you get a view of the port of Douala, and Bonanjo. Very outstanding! and I do hope more Cameroonians visit. Did I say the guides were very good.
