Too small dishes , too high pricing , you can get much better similar food
lip 2019 • Pary
We had good lunch , unexpected , all dishes were with small content , very basic without any special flavor , even meat amount on sticks was (samples) not generous ( related to its cost ) , Price of total 60$ for 2 persons in unjustified , look for better food and better pricing , their was no parameter in this lunch which I can justify & recommend. Sorry.

Mostly for Food but not only

Much more comfortable ,spacious and enjoyable to visit than his "bigger brother" the Carmel Market, you can see there the regular fruits and vegetables as almost at any worldwide markets and unique Ethnic goodies from the Yemen, Iraq and Bukhara traditional kitchen.

Don’t go if you enjoy Shuk HaCarmel
sie 2018 • Pary
It is the market where people go to get what they need not go to take photos. It is not very big but it has everything that you can find in Shuk HaCarmel. Prices here are at least 2 to 3 shekles cheaper than the prices for the same kind of fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, spices and pastries. There are more butcher stalls and fish stalls here. Because prices here are much lower than the ones in HaCarmel and because people coming here are usually more buying for what they need for their families, bargaining is not common. Also the Shuk never gets that crowded as HaCarmel because the space between each side of the stands is much wider and most people don’t hang around taking photos. Small eateries are sparse. The bathroom here is definitely well maintained, clean and modern. On the afternoons of Fridays, if you are here to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables, bread and pita, you will definitely get a real good bargain though you may also get a bit bargain at Shuk HarCarmel. A final note, if you look for something colorful and if you are in Tel Aviv just as tourists, this may not be the right Shuk for you. Definitely if you live in the north or central, it probably not wise to come to the south to shop.

Disapointing
sie 2018 • Znajomi
On a very hot day visiting the market I was hoping to see lots and lots of vegetable and fruits and breads and cakes etc. quite disappointing. Two tiny sitting areas to have something to eat. Lots of “junk” merchandise. Decided not to come again.

Authentic local market with pros and cons

Less touristy and crowded than the Karmel market, this is a good place to do your shopping or enjoy the local produce. It is, however, also farther away and less colorful. Try coming on a weekday to enjoy the many local restaurants and delis.

The Tikva Market is a local colorful market
lut 2017 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
The Tikva market or "Shuk ha tikva" in Hebrew is a local market located in Yad Eliyahu neighborhood in Tel Aviv. It offers special ingredients fish meat flowers clothes and more. I personally recommend the pastries place on the right (in the entrance of the market).

Cheap but Basic
lip 2017 • Znajomi
This is not a place you should go if you are here for a week and are looking for an intense cultural experience. This is however a fantastic place to buy cheap fresh food. The vendors here deal mostly in vegetables, fruits, nuts, bread and baked goods. There are also a few small convenience stores in the shuk offering good deals on canned foods or household supplies. There is nowhere better to do some basic grocery shopping for great prices! Pro tip: come on Friday around 17:00 to get amazing deals. Yes, most of the shops will be closed already, but the few that are open will sell their goods very cheaply to avoid wasting them over Shabbat. My favorite stall is located at the end of the row. You can buy still delicious bread at amazing prices, usually 3 plastic bags (2-4 smallish loaves or like 5 pitas per bag) for 10 NIS. It depends on what is left at the end of the day, but I have also gotten great deals on leftover bourekas this way. Many of the stall owners leave their rotting food in the walkways but don't be deterred. Vendors also sell their remaining veggies at ridiculous prices (1 NIS per head of cabbage, for 5 carrots, or 2 cucumbers).
