Original name

The place should be name in the language of people who are the original inhabitants. Food and sceneries unbeatable. The name that is clearly imported is not good.

Don't leave without seeing this place
sty 2021
I'm so glad I went here. Definitely take a tuk tuk to the bridge. I walked here from town and it was a bit further than I expected, especially when it's pouring rain. The place is magical and really looks like the photos. The water temp was about 74 in January. I happened to go during the Biden inauguration and was able to watch it live on CNN. The Garafinu who own this place are big fans of Obama and they were excited about Harris being in office. I had the shrimp which was served with fried plantains and beats. The food was amazing. A word of warning, if you have a Tigo phone, they will think you are in Belize, so you won't get any cell phone service without paying for roaming.

Relaxed walk from Livingston - worth a trip!
gru 2019 • Pary
Would recommend a trip if you’re in the Livingston area. We’d heard talk of “tours” to Siete Altares and that is absolutely not necessary (unless you prefer it!) - it’s a nice walk along the coast (or a slightly faster combo of through the town and along the coast - joining the coastal walk at the pedestrian bridge). I think it took us about an hour and half at a very relaxed pace from our accommodation at Casa Nostra. It’s well signposted on the walk and there’s some simple facilities at the entrance, toilet, shop etc and a small entrance fee. Make sure you navigate over the rocks all the way to the top pool if you can - by far the nicest for a dip, and to jump off the waterfall into!

A place to cool down
sie 2019 • Dla rodziny
The seven altars is a nice place to visit. We went walking from our hotel. Taking a tuktuk or an organised tour is easier and quicker.
We arrived at 1am and there were only 6 other people. We enjoyed the swim and jumping of the high part.

This is the best place to visit in Rio Dulce. Truly a sacred space. Sit still enough and the dragonflies will land on you!

Beautiful and unspoilt

Take a tuktuk to the bridge and walk along the beach. The beach is very undeveloped with a lot of egrets and other wildlife.

It was beautiful but from what we saw on the pictures we had higher expectations, but it's a beautiful place. It's great for tourists because it's a beautiful walk to get there. It's a little dry around march but in the raining seasons it has more water and the falls are bigger.

Beautiful walk in the jungle
mar 2019 • Pary
We walked from the bridge all along the beach to the entrance of Sietes Altares; it's a lovely walk (about 45 minutes) but make sure you get back before the tide comes in (usually in the afternoon, but check) or you'll get wet.
The actual walk in the jungle to Sietes Altares requires climbing over rocks, sometimes wet slippery rocks, so wear suitable shoes (or walk barefoot). The jungle environment is cool, beautiful, and full of vegetation; we were lucky to see an amazing Morpho butterfly. The top pool is suitable for swimming and you can stand under the little fall; just after the rainy season both the pool and the fall are probably fuller.
Make sure you go early (it opens at 6AM) so you can have the place all to yourself.
