Harrowing & Informative
gru 2019 • Pary
A Very stark place, kept to look cold and un-inviting for maximum effect. Lots of info and detail, which, if you make your way through, leaves you feeling upset and saddened and also a little suspicious. Worthy of a visit for an hour or so.

A must see

Very small museum. Still quite impressive. For us Finnish citizens it is quite horrible to see what happenned to our neighbours in Baltic countries. Glad we managed to avoid...

Quick but interesting visit
lip 2019 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
This is a very small site, basically just a row of prison cells used by the KGB with some exhibit panels and videos. Still well worth doing, especially if you have the Tallinn Card. Much smaller than the KGB site in Riga, but still worth a quick stop in and history lesson.

Easy to forget the mark the soviets left - a must visit
sty 2019 • Znajomi
It is not always easy striking a balance with what you want to say as a country, especially one occupied by many countries over its entire history. The soviets probably left this chilling little reminder to ensure we are reminded about the crimes that were committed. The former president of Estonia noted that "The crimes against humanity which took place in Estonia and a part of European history, and the must remain in the past". This is only a small museum, adults cost $5 Euro but it is money well spent. A family ticket will set you back $11 euro. The cells are haunting and the stories confronting. Well wort a visit.

Dark side of Tallinn
wrz 2018 • Pary
It was surprisingly the best of the sights we took in though not necessarily one that is highlighted much in tour guides. In the back of my mind, I should have expected it from an ex-Soviet satellite. The space is small but what is there was painful to read about yet a needed reminder of the KGB and the communist, soviet era. Though Estonia is now an EU member, there are many reminders (not least this museum and the atrocities committed behind these walls) of its dark and painful past.

The true cost of resistance
lip 2018 • Pary
An eerie wee place and one can only imagine the perpetual terror that the prisoners lived under. Very easy to get into an all but impossible to get out of with informers, spies and denounciations being rife.

KGB prison cells
gru 2017 • Pary
It cost 9 Euros to go in, but you can't put a price on coming out. Some people never did. A sobering reminder of what the KGB used to do to enemies of the state in the not so distant past.

A stark reminder
paź 2017 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
This is a somewhat scary place. It is the actual facility used for integration and torture during the Soviet Occupation during WWII. Because it is in a basement it is even more ominous. While it is small it is very well laid out and easy to follow. There are several small rooms each with its own evil use. Along the the right wall is a detailed timeline of events, before, during and after the occupation and the evolution to independence. It represents a very dark but important part of Estonian history. If you are in search of a comprehensive view of Estonian history this should be a part of your stay. Recently opened in early 2017 the cost is 6 EUR.
