Nice place to visit for a change
kwi 2019 • Znajomi
It's like a small dessert and it ends up on a beach, once you climb a quite steep hill. It's gets very hot though. Right in front of the entry you can rent boards to do some sandboarding on the hills inside. We saw a massive iguana while walking there. If you don't want to melt down, try to get theere at 10am as the latest, then by noon when it gets crazy hot, you'll have finished. Bring your own water as well.

Beautiful, fun spot with amazing dunes and beach!
lip 2018 • Znajomi
If near Bani, these Dunas de las Calderas National Monument are worth a visit. Entrance is RD$100 per person ($2 US).

You can walk through the dunes to a beautiful secluded beach area - about 10 minute walk. You can also go sledding down the dunes if you bring a boogie board or equivalent.

Warning - the sand gets very, very hot. You should bring sneakers and/or socks as walking barefoot can burn the bottoms of your feet. Flip-flops didn’t give enough protection from the hot sand.

Beautiful, fun spot!

Beautiful landscape
maj 2018 • Pary
Dunas de Bani is actually in Salinas, close to a salt mine. It has an amazing combination with a beautiful beach, sand mountains and green trees. Just US$2 to enjoy a great natural park.

Small desert next to beach
kwi 2018 • Pary
The dunas were something different. You have a desert with dunes of sand between the road and the ocean. Its a national park that cost 100 pesos to enter. The sand is very hot in some places. No food or water in the park so bring you own. You can sand surf on the dunes. The beach has alot of rocks and the water was not clear but it is very pretty there.

Sandboarding! Fun!
mar 2018 • Dla rodziny
Our hotel was nice enough to lend us the sandboards. The sand was very hot after mid day. Not even walking with our sandals was bareable. I suggest you use thick soal shoes. It is an amazing experience. Be sure to take enough water. You will end up in kilometers of desert.

Like a desert! ♥

If you want to feel something unbelieveable in a beautiful place, maybe this could be your place. I dare you to climb this sand mountains to get the beach and enjoy the magnificient about wild life in a beach. It could be awesome. You only have to pay 2$ e/o per entrance and bring a lot of water because of weather. ¿Any question? I'm here to help you.

An amazing site
lut 2017 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
A natural wonder worth the visit. This is a tiny piece of dessert that sits next to the ocean and is just beautiful. Breathtaking views is you climb up the dunes (you need to be in shape, I wasn’t so I almost coughed my liver climbing up) or from the top of the viewing house. I can’t wait to came back an take a better and longer look around!

Another group of sand dunes
wrz 2017 • Pary
Another group of sand dunes. I personally collect dunes, be they ergs in the Sahara or sandunes in Death Valley. These are similar to the dunes on the Malibu Coast. Not spectacular, but still fun.

Great food
sie 2017 • Znajomi
The food is great here. A little bit more on the pricer side than what you'd get near or around the hotel.
