The heart of the village
gru 2020
The Lifeboat shed is always worth a visit, the brave crew may be around or informed associates who will tell you all about the boats on display. Caister Lifeboat is the best representative a village could wish for.

Just an awesome experience watching it perform its duties in the sea {rough or smooth tides} the opening hours of the boat hut needs to be more frequent

A great place to find out what goes into a rescue through history

Wonderful staff man the museum as well as lifeboat crew can be on site. The story of Caister private self funded lifeboats. Not part of RNLI for many years but do more rescues than most RNLI boats! They have to raise over 100 thousand yearly to keep both boats up to scratch well worth a vist

Its free and worth a short visit, they welcome donations, go in and have a look round. Large car park - charges apply during summer months.

Visited both the new and oldifeboat stations. We were particularly impressed with the old lifeboat "museum". The volunteer staff were great and interesting. We must be proud of the brave volunteer lifeboat men and women who risked their lives to rescue others who foolishly obey accident got in to trouble at sea. The current team are are also to be praised. Although free, we should spare a few pounds from our pockets to keep this service 'afloat'. Gift aid it for added financial benefit.

This is a great place to visit to learn about caister lifeboats. Its free to visit but dont be a skinflint pop some money in the donation pot. This helps them to do what they do best save lives. This is an independent lifeboat and need all the help they can get. Its well worth the visit

What a great place to visit... firtly you go into the hanger which homes to two Caister Lifeboats (one being donated by Jim Davidson OBE) once you have looked around this hanger you walk towards the sea and a second hanger which has so much information to read and look at i literally could have been in there half a day alone. There are also activities for the little ones to play with and a real (old) lifeboat that you can climb up on to with suits for those who enjoy dressing up.
As Caister Lifeboats are not RNLI all monies to run them come from donations and special days etc... so give generously you never know when you may need them.
Worth remembering, this is a working lifeboat station and as such the boats could be called in to action at any point.
