I visited here right now to plan a wedding for my friend.

A drunk staff member said I had to leave at once. It is “private” she kept mumbling

Then the Father escorted us out with a rude attitude

I said we are a potential client . They did not care . Guess they don’t want our money.

It was the most unprofessional experience I ever encountered in all my times in Italy.

Seems like a Mafia run castle with no class at all

Spero che vadano in bancarotta dal loro estremamente scortese

We stayed here from September 27-October 3, 2019. Amazing place, excellent location with amazing views. A five minute walk to train station that can take you to Naples, Pompei, Herculaneum, and Sorrento. Naples is about a 50-minute ride and Sorrento going the other way is about 10 minutes. Would stay here again in a minute.

Room in a castle
paź 2019
My husband and I spent one week at Castello Giusso in order to explore the Amalfi coast. The location and the castle itself were superb and the views wonderful. However we were very disappointed in the apartment itself. It was poky and claustrophobic with a very low ceiling upstairs, making it difficult to stand upright. Although clean it seemed neglected, with peeling paintwork and broken flyscreen on the window (which was described as panoramic but certainly was not). This meant mosquitoes got in at night. There were also ants crawling all over the place. Cupboards and wardrobes contained old belongings such as trainers and a blouse and needed clearing out. There was no table at which to eat so we ate out every day. We enjoyed our stay in Vico Equense but would not return to this Castle

Stunning views, too many weddings

Castello Guisso is a palazzo/castle on top of the cliffs above the sea in the little town of Vico Equense near Sorrento. It used to be the summer residence of the old kings of Naples, but has now been converted to private apartments, many of which are let out to visitors. The views across the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius are stunning. The complex has a pool, and an elevator to the private beach at the foot of the cliff: these are free to use, but if you want to hire 2 sunbeds and an umbrella, this will cost €12 per day in total. The town of Vico Equense is pleasant, with a good range of bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets, and has good connections via the Circumvesuviana railway to Sorrento, Naples, Pompeii and Herculaneum. You can easily book excursions to Capri, Amalfi etc.
However - Castello Giusso is now also a major wedding venue, which means that the pool is out of bounds for part of the day as it's part of the space used by the partygoers, and of course there is often a lot of noise and music until late at night. When we stayed in June 2019 there were 16 weddings/parties in the 21 days we were there. We understand that there are no (or at least not many) weddings in July and August, but we haven't experienced that.
So, in summary, it's a good location, and the views are genuinely second to none, but we're unlikely to go again because of the weddings, certainly not in June.

Holiday at giusso Castello
lip 2018
I’ve budget travelled in a huge variety of places and this is my favourite spot yet.
The castle reception rooms are refreshing after touring in the heat of July. The pool essential and you can eat on the verandah . Not at all touristy and we are the only English, just how I like it.

It’s about the view

This Airbnb rental was fabulous. The 3 bedroom condo had fantastic views of Vesuvius across the bay of Naples. The condo had a large living area and room for 5. There were 2 baths but only 1 shower. The facility is a gated compound with a castle suitable for weddings. There was a large swimming pool which we used. The restaurant was not yet open but great food, pizza and shops are minutes away on foot. You take a lift to access the beach. There was ample free parking.

Great wEek in Vico at Castello Giusso September 16

We had a wonderful week long stay here. We took the Autolinee Curreri bus from in front of the main terminal at Naples (10e) which was much cheaper than other airport transfers.
The Castello is great if slightly quirky. We were looking for simple self catering accommodation and booked online. We got an excellent deal for the price. The building itself is like a Castle with some beautiful reception rooms. At first glance it looks a bit run down but it is obviously expensive to look after and there is money being spent on the stonework right now. There was some scaffolding up at the side overlooking the sea so our little balcony was smaller as a result. This didn't bother us. We aren't sure that we got the room advertised but we were very happy with it. It is easy to find faults and I guess it depends how fussy you are. There are some beautiful rooms there with big balconies / patios which no doubt are more per night. We had a little room with a mezzanine floor for the bed and toilet / shower room. The living area had a sofa bed and big shutters giving an amazing view over the bay to Vesuvius. There was a table chairs and storage. The little kitchen had a fridge and a two ring hob plus a kettle and a toaster. Bizarrely it didn't have a socket so we simply moved the kettle over to a socket near the table. The toilet /shower room was small and the water heater didn't work very well but you expect that I think in an old building and we managed to shower. There were plenty of towels and bedding and the bed was comfortable. Wifi was only available on the ground floor but again not a problem and obviously free wifi in cafes etc. All in all we were happy with the room.
The Castello has an outdoor unheated swimming pool which we used on one day. It was cleaned daily in the morning. Being mid September it was 'refreshing' and we enjoyed an afternoon on loungers. As the season ended on 11th September the coffee / snack bar wasn't open but we simply took our things with us or popped back to the room for a coffee. There are nice well maintained grounds and some glorious views. The hotel is a popular spot for weddings which they do superbly. One wedding did mean that the pool couldn't really be used that day but there is also a private beach reached by lift. Again, as it was the end of the season this wasn't manned but equally it didn't cost 50c for every lift use. The beach was well used at the weekend and although in the shadow of the cliff it is a good spot and gets the afternoon sun.
There was no restaurant or bar open at this time of year but there were many great places locally. The staff were friendly although non English speaking with the exception of Antionette. Again we loved not being in a touristy place but in a genuine real Italian setting and if we needed anything I'm sure we could have communicated.
In summary this was a great place to stay in a superb Italian village with great views. We loved the buzz around the place with the weddings. We loved Vico and ate at Pizza Metro, Gran Caffe Zerilli, Patisserie Gabrielle and Titos. We also had amazing cakes and croissants from the bakery. Vico is great for getting around and the beach we also went to was superb (10e) to hire a lounger for the day. We took the train to Sorrento, visited Positano, Ischia, Sorrento itself and also Naples. If we'd had longer we'd have taken the nearby cable car to Mount Faito, visited Vesuvius, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri, Amalfi etc.
We will just need to come back!

What a superb setting
wrz 2015 • Pary
I loved staying at this castle, little gem outside Sorrento and the little village of Vico Equense. Well worth it when staying on a budget, private little beach which is deserted in September. basic rooms but who stays in there when you have a pool and a beach nearby! Sadly bar not open during September. Would be a beautiful setting to get married at, the views are miraculous and the castle exceptional.

An unmaintained "attraction"

It's not worth finding this because no-one has looked after it for ages and as a consequence is run-down and rubbish strewn. Broken glass too.
