Lovely exhibition space with fine permanent collection.

This is a pleasant gallery to visit. As well as works by famous British artists such as Edward Bawden, John Piper, Howard Davis and Gerda Rubinstein, there is currently a fine display of work by modern female artists from the Ingram and Jerwood collections. This is called Show Women and is well worth seeing.

Show Women on until Oct 2018

At the moment there is an amazing and contemporary art show called Show Women, with many thought provoking and intriguing artworks. There is especially a few eye catching pieces. One is a light and shadow installation that has been hand cut. Really impressive! Go and have a look, it's not your usual type of show for sure!

Great Visit!
maj 2016 • Znajomi
Went for the first time with my Cousin two weeks ago. We saw the Gibberd Collection, a local artists' exhibition and also a particular artist's exhibition. We felt welcomed and were given info as need be. There was artwork to buy (My Cousin bought me a lovely "woven" poppy mounted in a stone) and guides to purchase/read, plus postcards. A lovely, restful and peaceful Gallery, away from the "hubbub", yet not too far away - near cafe's too!

We had been to Fred gibberd's garden, so naturally wanted to come here. We saw his collection which included Nash,Frink. Piper, Moore and many more. Very much post 2nd world war art. There was also another modern exhibition and local artists exhibition.

Constantly evolving exhibitions of great art
kwi 2016 • Pary
Home of the permanent collection of 20th Century Watercolours, with many Royal Academicians, this also has a constantly evolving exhibition programme, with previous exhibitions by Turner Prize winning nominees, John Mills, and other leading artists. Just outside are some of Harlow's large collection of public sculpture, including works by Henry Moore, August Rodin, and Elizabeth Frink.

Interesting collections of art

I regularly visit this venue. There is always something to see. There is the main gallery of pictures on the perimeter with regular exhibitions in the centre. I think the exhibitions often show the work of local and of amateur artists. The general standard of art, crafts and sculpture is very good and really interesting. It is very diverse.
The venue is free. Perhaps a donation box or a token entry fee should be in place to raise funds to enable to keep this valuable asset going.

Short and sweet an insight to the 50,s art
sie 2015 • Znajomi
The core exhibition was donated by Sir Frederick Gibberd, the architect of the New Town, although quite small it features his friends and contemporises from the time the New Town was born (1950's), some now famous, add to that regular travelling high status exhibitions and you get a delicious piquant taste of recent art in a bite sized portion. Opening hours are limited so check in advance. Situated in Harlow Civic Centre its a gallery full stop however there are many cafes and other food outlets nearby.

Priceless works of art on our doorstep
maj 2015 • Wyjazd w pojedynkę
Exhibits are changed frequently & none are ever the same. Previously theatre designs from V&A museum-without the expense/hassle of going to London. This week fantastic portraits. Regular kids activities. Next Saturday portrait artist will be painting from a live model and anyone can join in and create their own masterpiece. Friendly/knowledgeable staff & volunteers-don't forget to quiz them on the Moore, Rodin & Rubinstein works of art dotted all over Harlow. Recommend especially on a wet day! Check for opening times at weekend & for special events. Open during working hours of Civic Centre in the week.
