From the splendid garden and its cafe-kiosk to its restaurants, Príncipe Real is more than worthy of a visit and it won't let you down: its attractions include "Pavilhão Chinês" (one of the more eccentric interior designs you'll ever see), museums and a fantastic botanical garden. I saw 3 concerts, 2 exhibitions, 1 performance, and bought 3 artist pieces in a artist-run-space that you will walk by without noticing it. I though about writing this review, because i want it to myself, and don´t want to ruin the magic vibe with humongous hords of tourists ruining it.

Pass by there, but be mindful of the fantastic job that the artists are accomplishing in a recession country.

Zaratan is an artist run space (as i´ve been told by the people there), where the artists run and programme the several spaces that exist in the villa. One concert space with the dirt floor from the XVII century were i felt history at my feet, a sunny secluded patio, a shop with a lot of gems of artist books, weird music vinyls and more interesting print stuff.
The exhibition was the real surprise, where there the gallery was full of smoke that was pouring from a smoke machine, that worked perfectly with the photography of an portuguese artist that mixed plants with people, a truly surreal experience! Will come back next time with my friends, a must if you like contemporary art!
