We were in Murren last September and did use the Sports Center for some trail maps. They are a "visitor center" and were helpful on any thing they knew.

The Sportzentrum is a hive of activity, particularly in the winter months. Here, or across the street, one can hire any snow equipment you might need, including sleighs, skis, clothing, ice-skates, et cetera. There is an ice-skating rink and a curling rink immediately outside, the snow school next door, and a great pool (opens at 13:00) indoors. Additionally, there is a wonderful spa area with sauna and steamroom (at extra cost). The staff are very friendly. There is free internet, and a wonderful cafe that werves great coffe, soup, and hot chocolate, with very friendly staff. Definietly recommended. PS: The doctor has his rooms here also!

We didn’t utilize a quarter of the services Alpines Sportzentrum offers due to time constraints (staying @ a Murren hotel gets you passes to use their hot tubs – we never got a chance!), but our experience here was wonderful. Before coming to Switzerland, I’d read a lot on different hiking trails & tried to plan which hikes we wanted to do in advance. We showed up to our hotel in Murren & were utterly baffled – reading about trails is one thing but finding them, assuming they’re not closed, and not getting lost is another! That’s where Alpines Sportzentrum came in!

We came in here & asked the staff some of our hiking questions and their recommendations. Turns out, a lot of the trails we planned on hiking were still covered in snow, so they made other suggestions based on our abilities & distance we wanted to cover. They were SO nice and helped us make the most of our time here. They gave us a map & outlined the trailheads so it was foolproof.

One of the recommendations was hiking to Sprutz waterfall, which was AMAZING! You can hear the waterfall LONG before you can see it! When you arrive, there’s a staircase down to the waterfall and you can actually walk behind it! SO beautiful & the mist from the waterfall was so refreshing. I’d never come across Sprutz in all the advance planning I’d done, so we would’ve totally missed this!

My boyfriend rented a bike in Lauterbrunnen (he’s big into mountain biking) & got information on biking trails – that was really useful because many trails were still closed in May & there’s no other way we could have known without their help. Plus, a lot of the mountain biking trail information is not readily available on the internet.

They also helped us figure out how to get to Trummelbach falls. We were planning to walk there, but they let us know it’s a very dull walk. They told us which bus to take & exactly where to get on. This is a highly recommended place – absolutely amazing.

We were so happy to have gotten such good advice from such friendly, passionate people. Our vacation was unforgettable thanks to the help of Alpines Sportzentrum.

Alpines Sportzentrum was a great place to visit for swimming and hot tubbing after a day on the slopes. It also houses the Tourist Information which was very helpful for skiing, sledding, hiking information. Great skating rink as well with the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau forming a spectacular backdrop. Be sure to bring your own towels as they are not provided - that would have bumped my rating to Excellent!

Swimming after skiing, lounging in the hot tub or just having a coffee/beer in the lovely bar across from the reception. Everything is well operated and scrupulously clean. Swimming is free if you have a "yellow pass" from your hotel.

Clean and lovely with beautiful views of the mountains. Water is crystal clear. Be sure to bring your own towels as towel rental is expensive. The café is excellent as are all of the amenities.

I just went in to the Alpines Sportzentrum Murren looking for some information. Two very pleasant people were at the counter, and helped me find what I was looking for. Incidentally they have excellent hiking maps there, for a reasonable price.

Very nice sports complex - actually the only sports complex in the area. Great place to get a massage - ask for Sabina - and take advantage of the steam, jacuzzi and pool. I did not use the gym but it appeared to be modern equipment. My only issue is that they pretend that the credit card machine is not working to get you to pay in cash. Once you tell them you have no cash, miraculously the machine works. My friends had the same experience. All good, just be ready for this to happen.
