- WaddlerYork, United Kingdom10,401 contributionsBest viewsI had the Verona Card so entry was included, so I did not need to choose between paying for this view vs walking up to Castel San Pietro for free. But even if you need to pay then I would still come up here. The views are good and you can see how in tact and consistent the old town is with very few unattractive buildings in the view. At lunchtime midweek in September there was no queue for the lift, so I took it up. Bizarrely there was a queue of 10 or so people for the lift going down. Not sure why more people wanted the lift down than up.Visited September 2023Traveled soloWritten September 21, 2023

You can get the stairs up (free with the Verona Card) or take the lift (one €1 if you have the Verona Card) to the top (although there are a few steps to reach the final level. There is enough space at the top to comfortably move around and enjoy the views. We spend around 20 minutes at the top enjoying the viewVisited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 9, 2023

We got a “get your guide” Verona card which included entry (but not the lift up) which suited us as we was happy to walk, lift was €5. unacceptable behavior and rude. I politely asked the staff for information on how to buy tickets. They not only ignored me but answered me in Italian pretending that they did not understand English. I'm disappointed and hope they understand that tourists are boosting the economy of their city. Respect is the least they can do.
Finally, the 6 euros are not worth it for the few available square meters as well as the view. Better to spend your money elsewhere.

The only private tower of Verona was erected by the Lamberti family in the 12th century. Famous for two bells, the Rengo called citizens to arms and the Marangona warned of fires. The Lamberti tower is part of the Palazzo della Ragione architectural complex.

Take the lift up then the last flight of stairs if you want to see the view. It's spectacular especially just before sunset in the late afternoon glow. On a clear day you can see forever! (Forgive me the Barbra Streisand moment it was too tempting! ) but you can see the snow capped mountains in the distance and the red tiled rooftops nearby. Worth the climb? Yes! But use the lift it's not worth a heart attack!

Nowadays you have to book your tickets at least one day in advance.
Just be there on time and there will be no line and the elevator takes you to the top very quickly.
You'll have an excellent view over Verona and you might spot the arena ;-)
Hint:
Be aware of morons!!
Sometimes one of those morons might ring the big bell hanging on the viewing platform and horrify you (the time we visit = they did!!)

The tower is not worth mentioning. You can take the elevator or walk the 289 stairs. We paid 7 euros pp. And that for 5 minutes upstairs. There were safety nets around the tower which prevented beautiful photos. Not a second time for me. The vieuw was beautifull

6 euros to climb the stairs and experience views of the city. 1 euro extra for the lift, we climbed the 250 off steps to the bell tower. Great views over Verona and you can see as far as the alps to the north.
Member of staff very abrupt on the desk. She was like that with everyone!

In general irs good to go up for a birds eye view of any city. This is your best opportunity in Verona and is highly recommended. It’s 368 steps for those of us who can manage or 1€ if you can’t or are just too lazy. You will be rewarded with excellent views. I enjoyed the climb.
Be warned. If you genuinely struggle with stairs the lift stops about 50 or more steps below the top

Si può salire con il passeggino?
Marcofae28

Buona visita :)
