The museum has some interesting fossils especially a large mouth of a megalodon at the entrance and some whale like creatures which were very large. There were also some interesting tropical fish at the end of the exhibition full stop in the courtyard outside there were some nice tables and chairs to sit down and enjoy a picnic.

My wife, our two grown up daughters and myself visited the exhibition on October 2018.
We travelled through Piemonte in a wine oriented trip we planned.
Being interested in wines, I thought that in addition to the wineries visits, this would be an important addition. The aim being to gain some insight on the geological richness of the area, resulting in the unbelievable diversity of soils that make the delightful character of their wines possible.
The exhibition is relatively small but very well built. The results of these region of Italy being completely submerged under sea waters, and its time evolution, both geologically and zoologically, are very well presented.
The level of the material has been carefully chosen, so that different persons can make the most of it.
There is a guided tour print out in English given at request. It is very well built, and fits the path of the material showed in the exhibition.
I warmly recommend a visit, it’s been an enriching and pleasant experience for us.

THe museum is very interesting but I would recommend it expecially for people with children. It is quite fashinating to see how the city and its territory
(nowadays famous for hills and wines) were a sea full of fishes and shells long time ago

amazing Asti was once very much underwater and this museo features the sea life that abounded once upon a time. Part of the Gustadom was held in the courtyard..

This week, it was the Musel Paleontologico (or museum of fossils) in Asti. While there is not a large collection, it is very informative. This area used to be a part of the Adriatic Sea so there is a very nice collection of fossils in the collection. The day we were there, there was also a photo exhibition of underwater animals. Recommended!
